City counsel member caught passed out crack pipe in hand. A bystander flagged down Officer Skyler Hatch of the Cranston Police Department, reporting a driver who appeared to be "choking" or suffering a medical emergency while unconscious at the wheel of his SUV. When Officer Hatch approached the vehicle, he found Matthew Reilly, a sitting member of the Cranston City Council, completely unresponsive. As Reilly was awakened, the reality of the situation became clear: The Discovery: Officer Hatch spotted a glass crack pipe in Reilly’s hand. The Evidence: White residue, later confirmed to be crack cocaine, was scattered across the center console and the passenger seat. The Excuse: Reilly initially tried to attribute his state to a "sleep apnea" episode and the stress of a recent divorce. However, he eventually admitted to a "relapse" after 13 years of sobriety. During the stop and arrest Matthew was more concerned with his political career and if the media was going to find out than his own health and wellbeing. The fallout was immediate. Within days of the bodycam footage going viral, Reilly resigned from his position on the City Council under heavy pressure from the Mayor and his colleagues. While he was initially charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, Reilly entered a diversion program. After completing the program's requirements, his charges were dismissed and his record was sealed. The scary truth is this is a glimpse into the secret lives of many elected officials, I had the feeling he was hoping for special treatment. But good on these officers for doing things by the book.

🇮🇱🇮🇷 Israel just cranked its alert level to the absolute highest, looks like a massive escalation against Iran could drop any minute. Col. Larry Wilkerson says the current “ceasefire” talk is probably just a tactical pause while the U.S. and Israel line up a full-scale strike. The retired colonel’s warning this whole path leads to a nightmare “checkmate” scenario. A devastating nuclear exchange in the region that nobody wins.

🚨🇺🇸🇨🇳 Trump’s summit with Xi is less about traditional diplomacy and more about raw business. Col. Larry Wilkerson notes that unlike past administrations, this meeting lacked any formal expert preparation, relying instead on a team of corporate executives. He suggested this transactional approach hints that global security issues like the Strait of Hormuz are now being viewed primarily through the lens of market access.

@GigglingGanon Sabrina needs to take her "comfort" issues up with her employer. And give us all a break with this "I'm a woman. You don't know my triggers" horseschitt. You're an adult now, Sabrina. Start adulting.

Administrative assistant for the city believe her feelings trump the rights of the citizens. In this tense encounter, an independent journalist enters city offices to exercise a basic legal right: inspecting the public records index. Under Washington state law (RCW 42.56.070), this document is required to be available for public inspection. It’s not a favor; it’s the law. Enter Sabrina Costik, an administrative assistant who claims to be "brand new" but is already attempting to rewrite the Constitution based on her personal feelings. The exchange highlights a growing and dangerous trend in public service—the idea that personal "traumas and triggers" override the civil rights of the public. Throughout the video, Sabrina argues that: Her "comfort level" should dictate where a citizen stands. Her "liberties" are being violated by a camera in a government building. Recording her is "incredibly rude," effectively prioritizing social etiquette over the First Amendment. The situation required the intervention of Deputy Chief Matt McKnight of the Chehalis Police Department. In a masterclass of de-escalation and legal clarity, McKnight had to explain the hard truth to his own staff: when you are a public servant in a public building, you do not have a "reasonable expectation of privacy" while performing your duties. McKnight—who is currently campaigning for Lewis County Sheriff—remained professional, but the core issue remains: Why are public employees being put behind counters without a fundamental understanding of the Bill of Rights? As far as McKnight, he is running for sheriff in 2026 and his understanding and respect for the rights of the citizens is everything you would want in county sheriff. That said, as far as Sabrina, when "I’m uncomfortable" becomes a tool to suppress transparency, the public loses.

@trailmaster2213 ~93? We were also allowed around 400lbs unaccompanied baggage for some reason. Folks at JTFB asked us to bring some canned goods that we'd take to an orphanage on the other side of the runway. We'd host orphans for a static display of a UH-1, a UH-60, fire trucks, etc.

@JeffKNine @ThoughtCrimes80 I find DFW a snap. Several distributed checkpoints, never really much of an issue. Entering at E terminal (no AA flights) can be easiest, and just take the train to your actual terminal (A-B-C-D). DEN & ATL with those massive central checkpoints, esp if TSA has staffing issues.

@trailmaster2213 Officer hooches? I was E-6, we had some decent metal barracks with buddy bathrooms and open shower bays laid out in a quad. We had some pretty nice evening hangout at the hooches. Army was surprisingly cool about fraternizing as long as rank was respected.

@JeffKNine @ThoughtCrimes80 Denver warrants special consideration. Between the things that can go wrong at check-in, the checkpoint, and that verkakte train - 2 hours prior, bare minimum.

@ThoughtCrimes80 I fly from DIA at least once a month and this dolt is just stupid for pushing it with her time. I hate going to the airport but things like this are avoidable especially when going to Costa Rica. She probably sat in a Starbucks line for 30 minutes beforehand.

@ThoughtCrimes80 @cnsullyco I travel w/powder sometimes. The 3.4oz/100ml in a 1qt/1ltr back rule doesn't apply to powders but amounts >12oz can be subject to additional screening. And the tech that TSA uses to clear powders is SUPER low-throughput capacity (slow).

@ThoughtCrimes80 1.5 hrs prior for an int'l flight? 2 hrs. Minimum. And know your res locator code. Some 3rd party booking sites use their own code different from United's. Always "test" it out directly on United's web site. Sounds like you may have been designated as a Selectee ("SSSS").

@ReclaimD1 Stop trying to bang women on the 1st date. 1 date you barely know the person. 2nd date get to know her more. 3rd date is when it should happen. If it doesn't on the 3rd date you end it and find someone else because at that point it's a waste of time.

@JimmyTraina The 4:25 PM EST starts are more a function of geography. Seattle has two 1pm EST games, both of them being road games in the Eastern Time Zone (Washington & Carolina).
