@jerseygirlcrush @AaronGunn If no taxpayer money was used, I'd be fine with it (even though I find it scummy), but this is the CBC, it's all taxpayer money. And it clearly is targetting conservative/right views. Public broadcasters are supposed to be neutral, not strongly partisan.

I always thought the role of media was to hold the powerful accountable and to unapologetically seek the truth. Apparently, the CBC views it as trying to deceive and trick individual citizens (and opposition Members of Parliament) into bizarre and intentional “traps”. It’s something you would expect from a university fraternity, not a taxpayer-funded broadcaster. I want answers. Why is the taxpayer-funded broadcaster contacting Canadians and a Member of Parliament in disguise and trying to trick us into participating in a twisted social experiment, in partnership with American leftists like Igor Vamos? Will taxpayers also need to cover the legal bills for CBC in the inevitable lawsuits they are about to face? I interviewed more than 300 Canadians for my documentaries (and didn't receive any taxpayer money). Not once did I engage in garbage like this.

@sarkonakj Infuriating but not surprising. HRT's have been skewed far to the left since their inception. They should be abolished in their current form for sure.

Pranks can be fun (even if this one was a humiliating failure). what ppl are angry at is that this was done with govt cash, both from CBC & Cdn heritage dept. I.e. it wasn’t a subversive mischievous prank. It was a govt-approved propaganda gambit to attack ideological heretics

@cselley I kind of wish it would so CBC supporting Canadians could see how badly CBC needs massive structural change or flat out defunding.

@NewWorldHominin It'd be one thing if some private company did this. It's totally another thing that taxpayers are funding this crap. CBC proves daily how they only represent a certain set of Canadians with so-called progressive views. The rest of us pay for stuff we find disgusting.

I found out recently that I was deceived by social activists in an elaborate scheme dating back to January. A production group with what I now know has a fake name and fake identities gave me a friendly interview about my book A Day with Sir John A, and about Sir John A Macdonald, back in Feb. They connected me with a fake company called Heritage Figures Canada with a fake website and "hired" me to perform consulting work for them. We had what I now know were fake meetings, fake documents, fake commercial shoot, fake prototype of a Sir John A collectible. Then in a second filmed interview last week, they turned on me, and it was revealed to have all been a setup in order to demonize Sir John A and smear me. It turns out this is a taxpayer-funded CBC and APTN project. There is so much more, I will make a video. They also deceived @FrancesWiddows1

@cselley @drivandalism Definitely more than that for years now. I'm 46 and I did highway driving, parallel parking, etc. for my test at 17 (full G as I had to do graduated licensing)

@drivandalism Once around the block, drive into a spot in a mall parking lot, the end. Full license. I suppose it's possible standards have improved but the state of driving doesn't suggest that.

How incompetent do you have to be at driving to have to BRIBE your way into a G license? This is INSANE.

@jkenney Maybe the judge thinks ruling on facts, such as that this offender truly is indigenous and not caucasian, does more to maintain the repute of justice than to indulge the prejudice of too many against repeat offenders like Kuneyuna plus it's costly to keep our prisons overcrowded.

This is nuts. A judge is angry with a guy who has NINETY criminal convictions because he says he is caucasian, not indigenous, so he can't get a racial sentencing discount that he is not seeking! Do judges like this not realize that they are putting the administration of justice into disrepute, while inviting widespread ridicule?

Wow. CBC is actually trying to normalize living with multiple strangers in a single dwelling because you’ve been fed the idea that having a house, two cars and land is normal. Why is our state funded media doing this? Well they are preparing Canadians for a life of having less and owning nothing.

@cbcwatcher What gets me is that sovereign wealth funds generally put money into them from budget surpluses (like Norway). We're starting one that requires massive deficit spending. This is a not a "sovereign wealth fund" at all. It's a fund for more deficit spending.

@TristinHopper Gen X here and I feel your frustration. I couldn't stand Trudeau from the start and Carney is even more dangerous as he is going for the same goals but dressing it up as if he's not (cancel the EV mandate but toughen emissions standards to do the same thing).

I was cursed to watch naive Millennials fall for Justin Trudeau, only for them to be slowly, systematically shown the error of their ways. And now I'm forced to watch the same process play out with Boomers and Carney.
