Hatred and antisemitism have no place in Canada.
The display of a Jewish person in effigy is vile, deeply disturbing, and a clear act of hate. This incident must be taken seriously and investigated by the appropriate authorities.

Effective June 1, 2026, the Paramount Fine Foods Centre will be renamed the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre while the City undertakes work to secure a future naming partner. The City unilaterally terminated the contract with Paramount Fine Foods for lack of payment and is in the process of considering its legal options for remedy. What this means: - There is no impact to scheduled programs, bookings, rentals, or events. - All activities will continue as planned. - Tickets and materials that reference the former name will still be honoured. During the transition, you may see both the old and new names across signage, listings and communications as updates are completed. The City will also manage food services and concessions starting June 1 with a focus on maintaining high-quality and consistent customer experience. Among the most absurd assumptions in this whole surreal debate is the idea that Alberta, in the vanishingly unlikely event that it was ever permitted to detach itself from Canada, would depart with its entire current territory — including the parts with the oil.
There is zero possibility of this, and even less legitimacy to it. The provinces control natural resources under the constitution of Canada — but under the constitution of Canada, and as provinces of Canada. The minute they cease to be under the constitution, they cease to enjoy any of its guarantees.

And I wouldn't use only social media but all media, including radio, TV, podcast, and print media. You may have learned about equalization in school but many did not.

Most get their facts about separation and equalization from social media much of which is paid for by foreign interests. What I want is public education for all that uses social media.

@joansview @CaloriePowered @acoyne Actually my husband is not for independence. A divided household. I have been since PET was elected. He was PM before my vote hit the bottom of the ballot box. $$ I worked where we all knew how much more it cost us to be Cdn. $2,150 a yr in the 60’s. $5-6,000 now.

Was the safety of these individuals considered? You're inviting them onto a program under false pretenses and placing a target on their backs. These conversations are contentious and will draw in a lot of anger and maybe that's what this show was intending to do.
This isn't a left or right argument. It's just wrong!

Quite bizarre, @netanyahu is @MarkJCarney peer, Carney either didn't have the balls to call Bibi, which is cowardice, or Bibi wouldn't take Carney's call. Carney calling President Herzog (mostly ceremonial position) is sort of akin to Bibi calling our Governor General to complain

I called on Prime Minister Carney and his government to address the fear and sense of abandonment felt by our sisters and brothers in the Canadian Jewish community before it’s too late. In our discussion, we agreed that Israel has the right to self-defense. I reiterated that we are acting to protect our people against the threat of terror from Iran and its terror proxies in the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon. I also underlined the importance of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803 in Gaza, including the vital condition that Hamas is disarmed and a new government is established in Gaza.
