@SnapeBex Yeah, that's how I felt exactly 😁 Lesson learned: if it's not cold and windy it's probably not worth it.

@ReadySteadyRun I tried running in rain jacket other day.... not sure if I’d rather just get soaked and dry off after 🥵

A bit wet today but was expecting more from storm Ellen, clearly hasn't arrived here yet. Took the rain jacket and everything but I think I finished worse off with how much it made me sweat inside 😆 #running #ukrunchat #247running

@AndrewHulbert @UKRunChat @Liz_Kentish 1. You're running against yourself and no one else. Take whatever pace and distance you're comfortable with and build up from there at your own pace. 2. Listen to your body and rest when needed, it's easy to get overly excited and then get sidelined with nagging injuries.

Looking back to when you very first started running and all you have learnt since then, what advice would you offer your younger self? Or what key advice do you have for people just starting out? #ukrunchat @UKRunChat @Liz_Kentish

@mileswithshell @AndrewHulbert @UKRunChat @Liz_Kentish I wish I had access to a lot more trails around me, that would improve my running loads I believe. What I do on the road is that I almost always go randomly, I rarely get out with a planned route. This helps a lot with breaking monotony plus I got to now know my area really well.

My runs are starting to get longer now and typically are around the 17km – 20km mark. What’s the best way people find to stay focussed during the run? Or even more how do you keep boredom at bay? #ukrunchat @UKRunChat @Liz_Kentish

What’s the best way to take care of your feet? I’m doing nearly 60km of running a week now and my feet are suffering. Sometimes I get bad blisters too. What the best way to handle those? #ukrunchat @UKRunChat @Liz_Kentish

@Liz_Kentish @AndrewHulbert @UKRunChat @springsteen That's why music doesn't work for me. I switch off from the music and start focusing on the small niggles and the tiredness super quick I don't know why. Another thing that helps me massively is running in the trails, I can just get in a flow state super easily, it's great.

@AndrewHulbert @UKRunChat @Liz_Kentish Yeah for sure. Unless there's some injury going on, our bodies can take much more than what we think especially during the activity. Some days I'm super motivated to go the distance and it's fine, other days every km is a pain :)

@Liz_Kentish @UKRunChat @AndrewHulbert When I'm doing slower runs, I sometimes force myself to breath through my nose. If you can't do it, you're probably running too fast. Have a look at HT training it will help with that in the long run.

Q2. How on earth do I master the breathing when I run? I find I’m breathing through my mouth which makes my throat dry. Any advice or resources? @AndrewHulbert @UKRunChat #ukrunchat

@AndrewHulbert @UKRunChat @Liz_Kentish Jokingly I would say Martial Arts! After 15 years of barefoot Taekwondo training my feet are like toughened leather and almost immune to blisters etc. They are however not the most beautiful feet in the world....

@Liz_Kentish @UKRunChat @AndrewHulbert I do intermittent fasting every day so if I run in the morning it means fasted run. I also have dinner around 7pm. For that kind of distances, you don't really need to eat anything in the morning, your body gets used to it super quick.

Q1. I’m new to running (March this year) and now run twice a week at 7am, either 7km or 10km. What should I be eating the night before and should I eat something before my run? @AndrewHulbert @UKRunChat #ukrunchat

@iAmKyleCee Exercise for sure, I already do a terrible job at eating healthy anyway that would be easy to drop 😂

Took the Speed Goat for a bit more pronation support and the ankle felt good, let's see after it cools down but good signs. Last run was only 4 days ago and I just realised I'm speaking like I've been injured for weeks. Oh well it felt good 😂 #running #ukrunchat #247running
