THE PROFITEERS: The system that finances education is rigged to incentivize more spending and more borrowing of your property tax dollars every year, and that is why educational outcomes will never improve and why your taxes will never go down. Watch this.

Federal policy blocks states from collecting data on K–12 students' immigration status, based on Obama era “Dear Colleague” guidance, not law. @TheJusticeDept & @usedgov should end this guidance, just as they did on Obama era policy regarding transgender students in bathrooms.

Data isn't good for the "turn Texas blue" crowd. Just 90,000 Dem primary voters had no previous history. They are going to need several hundred thousand more (perhaps more than a million) "never voted" voters to show up in order to be remotely competitive in November. That seems...unlikely.
Brad Johnson@bradj_TX

.@longhornderek put out his post-primary election reports this afternoon. The number of general election-only voters who cast ballots in the Democratic primary was double that of the Republican primary. #txlege Dem: mcusercontent.com/d3064a2fadaf60… GOP: mcusercontent.com/d3064a2fadaf60…

Even if applications had come to a close yesterday, the launch would have been the most successful school choice rollout in the history of the country. It's an incredible achievement given that it was a program that didn't exist, few parents knew about, whose software was only created a few months ago, and had a vocal opposition in the media and on the left who attempted to mislead and discourage Texans from joining. Now we have two more weeks to make it even more successful. educationfreedom.texas.gov

Texas is the leading state in U.S. beef production, with an inventory of roughly 12 to 13 million cattle and calves. As of 2023, Texas produced roughly 6.2 billion pounds of beef, valued at over $11 billion. The state contains over 4 million beef cows, accounting for over 14% of the total U.S. beef production.

In 2022, James Talarico said it’s “existential” to reduce meat consumption to fight climate change. "I am proud to say that our campaign has officially become a non-meat campaign... We are only buying vegan products from our local vegan businesses."

@RealBPhil Unlike you I see the school budget every year and know they are underfunded. But that doesn’t line politicians pockets. Maybe instead of working for a lobbyist think tank you actually do some of the hard work.

The question those concerned about public education should consider is why any parent - regardless of income- would choose a different school from the one they already pay for. If schools cared more about analyzing and fixing that problem, then they wouldn’t have to worry about EFAs.
