Sorry, but if you're taking at face value that the sole reason Tulsi Gabbard resigned 15 months into her tenure as Director of National Intelligence is because of a family health matter, you should nominate yourself for the "Most Gullible Consumer of Political Information" award

The CRTC decision on demanding 15% of all revenues from streamers for Canadian content is going to hurt our cross-border trade talks. But the CRTC says they don't care. Why? Because they have incompetent bureaucrats running the show. From my column. torontosun.com/opinion/column…

@mamma_tanya @Tablesalt13 That's right some people especially on the left have become severed from reality and unfortunately occupy several levers of power

@RealDaveSwanson @Tablesalt13 Given that these are the same people who decided that people convicted of raping minors, or peddling child porn, shouldn’t have mandatory jail time, but that someone who called out their illegal actions, should spend 2 years in jail…trusting them to know good from bad is risky.

We've learned this week that the CIA and CSIS have the ability to turn on your phone's microphone and listen in. We also learned that police in Ontario are also CURRENTLY doing this. BUT, its so secretive, they would rather DROP serious cases than admit it as evidence. Another conspiracy theory turned true.

@mamma_tanya @Tablesalt13 I don't really believe that Meta's Facebook Instagram Threads and WhatsApp will be leaving Canada and iPhones in the garbage? How else will they keep tabs on us? Maybe though --- Free speech and intellectual combat does not appear to be an important issue for Canadians does it?

@RealDaveSwanson @Tablesalt13 Given that meta and Apple are among the many companies that would leave Canada over this, effectively taking Canada into full North Korea territory, I expect the bill will be amended.

We'll see what they do with the data collected --- there's alot We have some bad laws too I have no desire to let bad people off because good evidence was collected illegally Other than that Santa Claus is coming to town He sees when you are sleeping He knows when you're awake He knows if you've been bad or good So be good for goodness sake!

@RealDaveSwanson @Tablesalt13 Not being happy about corrupt or inept politicians is not a threat to public safety. There is definitely an argument to be made for the reverse being true.

@RealDaveSwanson @Tablesalt13 And they can do, with a warrant, showing WHY a certain individual should be snooped on. As it stands, you make an anti-Carney post on X, he can send his gestapo looking for dirt on you.

Reminder that usury is a sin. Yes, people should know how interest and minimum payments work. But that doesn't excuse an immoral practice. I always get flak when I call out usury, and it just boggles my mind that anyone defends it.
MatrixMysteries@MatrixMysteries

An American checks her student loans. She borrowed $49,548.74. After 120 payments, she’s paid $25,558.36. Her current balance? $50,121.33. After PAYING $25k… she now owes MORE than she originally borrowed. This isn’t aid — it’s legalized USURY.
