I mean yeah, no one is claiming that LIRR workers are living in abject povert. But these workers move hundreds of thousands of passengers a day, their labor is vital to the region and its economy. Why shouldn’t they be paid well?

LIRR Train operators average over $230K in total annual compensation with a lifetime pension when you retire at 58. And they are shutting it down until they get more.
Public Unions are crooks holding public services hostage.

they’re already the best paid agency in the country, with average total comp of over $200K, and now they’re refusing a 4% raise?
