I've tried to be less combative on X this season and am blocking those who dont like my content. But at this moment, if you still think football data is a load of shit then you're effectively a flat earther

I still get a few comments every now and again from those who don't like football data and say metrics like xG doesn't matter. However, lets look at our xG over the season per game (from Opta) In games where we have had over 1xG P9, W6 D1 L2 In games where we have had lower than 1 xG P8, W0, D3 L5 In games where the opposition has had less than 1xG (irrespective of our xG) P7, W4, D2, L1 (SUFC Loss) In games where the opposition had over 1xG P10, W2 D2 L6 The games we won against teams with 1+ xG was against West Brom and Hull, who had 1.02 and 1.03 respectively. We have not won a game this season where the opposition has created over 1.1xG. We have only lost 1 game against the league leaders, when we have restricted the opposition to less than 1 xG.

Said loads of times, the competition is a nonsense but the format is brilliant. Qualifying for major tournaments must have teams playing those of similar standard, it is tedious unless there is jeopardy. Must be able to come up with a system
