Trump is probably paying a portion but other donors are contributing. On one level, who cares! I'll never attend an event their and my tax dollars aren't paying for it. On a different level, billionaire donors want something in return is a valid complaint - but that is temporary. Maybe lasting till a new administration comes in and it holds no obligations to those donors. Again, at the end of the day, who cares? It's just another government facility that our tax dollars will be used to maintain that can be used for events like state dinners and such. As long as tax dollars don't pay for us construction and it is used for state functions, it isn't worth bitching about. I'd bitch more about the democrats keeping the government shut down then this ballroom!
