@nh8checkmate Sounds like you're mad that the rule is being applied incorrectly on a regular basis, not that it was applied correctly last night.
The rule is written very clearly. Being mad that it was applied is just as dumb as diving while on a yellow.

@RealMitchHowe It’s because the same call has been ignored hundreds of times in the same tournament. If a standard is set how is it correct justice if the identical situation in other games is ignored 99% of the time and then effectively kills a quarterfinal.

"I'm mad that VAR was used to get the objectively right call" is a very weird take given the number of times that VAR has still left us wondering if it was the right call.

That NEVER gets called a yellow live … so because the referee completely miscalls the play originally … they send off Embolo?!?
Take the Argentina yellow away and give them the ball! COMMON SENSE!

@luisdollar09 100% I get that argument. The "VAR can't be used to give a yellow" is silly but for speed of play probably the right move. But I wouldn't be opposed to VAR being able to be initiated specifically for simulation yellows (and I wouldn't be opposed to manager challenges)

@RealMitchHowe My real non hating Argentina take is that no one is upset that a diving player gets carded, they are upset that the only reason this dive was punished is because the referee made the wrong call and brandished a yellow card which allowed this to be reviewed.

I have zero sympathy for divers. It's so easy to just not dive. Yellow cards are exactly the right way to go about it.

@amcalabrese12 It's one of the most blatant dives I've ever seen. Simulation is a yellow. You're inventing a hypothetical scenario to get mad at but the call made was the right one
