@justinleepowell @RedArmyHooligan @luisdollar09 Yeah I mean it’s important to say everyone from Musa to FCD deserves 10/10 marks for this deal. Dallas revitalized his career & got him to the World Cup. Musa has kept FCD minorly relevant. Everyone has been great and he is very appreciated by the fans for sure

@RealMitchHowe I think we just disagree on this which is fine! 😃 I’d be genuinely shocked if Musa turned down a Premier League offer of any sort this summer but there’s a long way between now and then

@Daniel_Rob27 Right - but if you're going to a mid-table or worse Premier League team, you're making equal money, with a relegation release clause. He's not a young prospect. If the money isn't better and theres no European competition, and he legitimately likes Texas, is it an obvious choice?

@Paul_y09 Right his career was stalling and he got an opportunity to resurrect it in a situation that would put his best qualities on show and it’s probably gotten him to the World Cup! 10/10 full marks to everyone involved. Why wouldn’t he want to go back to Europe now?

@Daniel_Rob27 Yup. But if you're Musa, what's the move that would make you leave? Unless it's to start for a Champions League club, he'll make more money here. If he's happy, Dallas should give him a raise and let him play out his prime here. Does a move to West Ham move the needle for him?

This isn’t like Mavs building around Luka then bizarrely trading him. I wouldn’t fault FCD at all for selling when a $20m offer comes in. But there’s been 0 preparation 😭

I disagree with Daniel here *slightly* in that the roster Dallas has constructed makes a lot of sense around Musa...so long as Musa is there and healthy. If he's not, it's a wooden spoon roster.

What is the identity of FC Dallas? To play really hard with a poorly constructed roster and mostly dry pipeline of talent from an academy that used to be the gold standard? The fans desperately deserve an injection of top level talent this summer

@RealMitchHowe There’s a hell of a lot of “pretty good” on the roster that doesn’t fit together cohesively and just tries really hard which again credit to Quill but what on earth happens when Musa leaves.

@Daniel_Rob27 Looking at this roster as currently constructed is so strange, because we've been led to believe there's a DP 10 coming, but all of the midfielders are pretty good and Quill seems to rate all of them. So it's not obvious who sits, and Benyamin isn't even really playing yet.

Basically they’ve really gotten themselves into an extremely sticky situation of being so dependent on one player that was very predictable last summer but have done nothing to rectify it (except draft picks lol) and now this summer could be really tough to swallow

So there’s a very, very real situation where it could be summer 2027 before FCD spends to put a competitive roster on the field.
It’s just all a bit of a bummer for a franchise that should be expected to compete top 5 in the West without question.
