While this administration, with his 150-officer police detail that we pay $30 million for, makes excuses, citizens are paying the price with their safety, their businesses, and their quality of life. I will do what he refuses to do. As Mayor, my administration will be proactive, not reactive. We will prevent crime before it happens, restore law and order, and put Chicago citizens first. I will fully support our police with the resources, staffing, technology, and authority they need to do their jobs , while still holding them accountable. We will enforce curfews, increase police presence in high-crime areas, downtown, on CTA platforms, and at known teen takeover hotspots. We will create rapid response units, use social media monitoring to identify planned gatherings before they happen, and hold organizers, promoters, and parents accountable when minors are involved in violent or destructive behavior. We will expand youth intervention programs , mentorship, job training, trades, sports, arts, counseling, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation , because prevention matters. But let me be VERY clear, those who continue to terrorize our streets, attack police officers, destroy property, or repeatedly commit violent crimes will be arrested, prosecuted, and locked up. I will prevent it , not just react to it. Chicago will have accountability, order, youth alternatives, and leadership that puts Chicagoans First. I have not seen anybody talking about what’s going on in Canada right now. This man was pulled over and told by police that he had to come with them because a psychiatrist labeled him “certifiable.” No paperwork, no rule of law, just a doctor saying that if he didn’t come with him right then and there that he would be arrested. The fact that a government could do this is terrifying.

Today, we remember the brave Americans who gave their lives in defense of liberty. We owe them more than a long weekend. We owe them a country worthy of their sacrifice. May God bless our fallen heroes, their families, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸
