MY SECRET IS OUT...My name is Scott Shamblin, and I'm running for State Representative (HD61-CO). I'm tired of rising costs and the dangers of Denver coming into my city. Let's work together and fix our home!

@COHouseDem @NaquettaR Can we bring action against the companies for not verifying citizenship? You know, enforcing the laws and regulations that already exist?

"HB26-1283 safeguards vulnerable employees, especially those in the construction, service, agriculture, or hospitality industries, from having their personal documents unlawfully shared with federal law enforcement agencies." - Rep. @NaquettaR.

Rep. @NaquettaR & @Junie4Colorado's bill to protect vulnerable workers has passed the House! 🎉 HB26-1283 would prohibit employers from confiscating identification documents.

I heard that CO was in such bad shape from an energy supply standpoint that Polis begged Trump to institute these mandates and he would not be opposed (so he wouldn't be the bad guy), which is what happened. No one could account for the lunacy of what is @COHouseDem. When you get a clue on energy economics, then you can have a seat at the adult table. Until then, keep drinking your sippy cups at the children's table.

HB26-1226 has advanced! This bill would fight back against federal mandates that force coal plants set to retire to stay operational, which will drive up costs to ratepayers and hinder Colorado’s clean energy future.

Every single thing you want in life is on the other side of something that sucks. That suck might be 100 workouts, 100 bland meals, 100 hours of work, or 100 hard conversations. Embrace it as the cost of entry. The answers you seek are found in the actions you avoid.

Hmmm 🤔 how’s does that happen with the Golden Standard in place? Higher reported voter registrations than the estimated number of voting-age citizens

@sleepdiplomat When I started reading this thread, I thought to myself (a side sleeper) "Well I dont want to get shoulder or eye issues, so maybe i'll start sleeping more on my back". As I continued reading, sleeping on your back has its own set of risks. Is it a "pick your poison" situation?

People with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's are nearly 4× more likely to sleep on their back for >2hrs/night vs healthy controls. If side sleeping clears the proteins that precede neurodegeneration by 20+ years, the implications are significant. 🧠 Correlation — but a notable one. 😴⚠️ themattwalkerpodcast.buzzsprout.com/1821163/episod…

During sleep, glial cells physically shrink by ~60% of their waking size — pulling apart to open channels that flush Alzheimer's proteins from your brain. This only happens during sleep. Not rest. Not drowsiness. 🧠 Sleep. 💤🔬 themattwalkerpodcast.buzzsprout.com/1821163/episod…

The fact that Trump listens to people who actually vote and know a thing or two about geopolitics and that he isn’t listening to delusional Candace Owens binge-watchers who mainline conspiracy theories, and basement dwelling incels who hate women, is a good thing, mein freund.
Yashar Ali 🐘@yashar

Despite President Trump’s anger toward him, Tucker Carlson says he was planning to fly to D.C. this week to try to convince the president to back off the continued war in Iran. But Tucker tells @esaagar that someone close to the president told him not to bother, because the president is being shown polls claiming the war has a 90–10 approval rating. I’ve seen some polling showing support that high — but only among hardcore MAGA supporters. If you think the president is guaranteed the support of the coalition that got him elected, you are living in a state of delusion. Think all those MAHA moms are going to vote for the president’s picks again? Nope. Think Nick Fuentes and his fans are part of that coalition now? Nope. Hell, Nick didn’t even vote for him last time. Think all those podcast bros are going with the president’s picks this time? It’ll be hard enough to get many of them to show up to vote, regardless of where they stand — much less vote for the president’s picks after feeling let down by him on several fronts. And whenever this issue comes up, people love to poo-poo Nick’s influence or Candace Owens’s influence — and dismiss how large their audiences actually are. First, many of their followers are far more likely to vote conservative than for Democrats. Second, if you think that doesn’t matter in a midterm, remember this: the ten tightest congressional races in 2022 were decided by margins ranging from just over 500 votes to just over 3,000 votes.

Major new report on global trends in mental health, out today from Sapien Labs. Data from 2.5 million people across 85 countries. Some of the most important findings: 1) Young adults used to generally have good mental health, compared to older generations. But now, in ALL countries examined, they are doing badly compared to older generations in that country. 2) "Four key factors have emerged that together predict three quarters of this effect. These are diminished family bonds, diminished spirituality, smartphones at increasingly young age, and increasing consumption of ultra-processed food." 3) The decline of young people's mental health is "most pronounced in the wealthier and more developed countries." They note that it is in such countries that smartphones are given earliest, junk food is most heavily consumed, spirituality is most diminished, and family ties are looser and often weaker. 4) "A younger age of first smartphone ownership is associated with increased suicidal thoughts, aggression, and other problems in adulthood." 5) Here is their summary of findings on early smartphone ownership: "GenZ is the first generation to grow up with a smartphone. Among this group, the younger they acquired their first smartphone in childhood, the more likely they are to have struggles as adults. These struggles extend beyond sadness and anxiety to less discussed symptoms, such as a sense of being detached from reality, suicidal thoughts, and aggression towards others. The effects arise through disruption of sleep, increased risk of exposure to harmful online content, predators, and explicit material as well as increased probabilities of cyberbullying during crucial developmental years. Excessive time spent on smartphones also diminishes the development of social cognition that requires learned interpretation of facial expressions, body language, and group dynamics. The negative impacts are particularly sharp below age 13." The report is short, accessible, and important. Read it here: sapienlabs.org/global-mind-he…
