Excited to announce the completion of my master’s research, which explored the average amount of time it takes for a dryline supercell to produce a tornado. 43% of tornadic storms produced their first tornado within 45 minutes to 1.5 hours of initiation.

Here are some of my shots of the Kilauea volcano eruption today. The most incredible natural event I have ever witnessed in person.

We might have the most significant storm of the 21st century on our hands here in Rhode island and southeast Massachusetts

@WeatherOwen We had Nemo and 2015. Would love to experience that again someday but I also have come to terms with the fact that maybe those were generational storms. But that’s why every winter we track ❄️

32.8” of snow as of 1pm at TF Green Airport…with more to come The most snow we have seen from a single storm. The previous record was 28.6” back in 1978. Insane

Blizzard of 2026 on final approach. A long overdue wallop for Southern New England.

The potential for near-hurricane-force wind gusts along the SNE coastline isn't being talked about enough IMO. Widespread 50-70mph gusts, perhaps higher, will occur as this storm moves up the coastline. Lots of long-lasting power outages with this one.

The blizzard of 2026 is closing in. New Jersey, Long Island, Southern New England are in the bulls eye. Accumulations over 2 feet are possible, but I suspect the storm will be remembered a bit more for its wind gusts. Essentially a tropical storm with snow. Going to leave a mark

Time to chime in. This storm is coming and it’s going to be a blizzard for I95. A great example of why it is important to be patient with these. We will iron out final specifics over the next couple days.

Just a sneeze away from a New England blizzard Monday. Very tough call. The big storm that whiffed out to sea a couple weeks ago was an obvious miss from this range, this one feels even tighter. No calling it yet.
