@li252708 @RonWaxman Impossible. You lack a basic understanding of planes & their runway landing speeds. Simply put, the pilots did their best to avoid the fire truck. Most planes land around 150–165 MPH & here, they slowed down to like 30 MPH rapidly, but couldn’t fully stop. RIP to the victims.

Did the pilot see the firetruck coming? Planes should have cameras near the landing gear/nose area so that they can see everything in their blind spots and ideally they should be able to have cross traffic alerts similar to techs in cars. Crazy these simple techs are not in planes

Important note regarding the accident at LaGuardia Airport. United 2384 wanted to return to gate. Odor in back of plane. Pilot couldn’t raise anyone at United to help get him a gate. Air traffic controller tried to help. There were no gates. Pilot asked for fire truck. 1/2

Earlier this week, I broke fast at Rikers Island with New Yorkers in custody, Department of Correction staff, Commissioner Stanley Richards, and Councilmember Yusef Salaam. It was a night that will stay with me for quite some time. People sharing what little they have: breaking bread, offering prayer, making space for one another’s dignity even in the hardest place. In a system too often defined by what it takes, I was reminded of what it means to give—mercy, dignity, and humanity. May we extend that mercy as far as we can. Eid Mubarak to all.

Remember some of the truths that we’ve been through of our lives not just him. It’s so many other people I’ve had a couple concussion so I know.

It’s crazy how these things have huge impact on their well-being/future. I think he said something along the lines that he would’ve retired a little later than 2015.

Jeff Gordon’s 2008 Las Vegas crash was one of the most memorable from that era Jeff said himself it was one of the worst crashes of his career That Nicorette paint scheme was a beautiful looking race car too

@TowryPeyton I watched this clip recently from Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports that talked about the impact of safety sense Dillon Earnhardt got killed and they had Jeff Gordon on who basically said if I didn’t have the HANS/ other safety equipment, he said all of that saved his life!

Awful situation happening now along Hwy 287 3 miles SE of Quanah. Multiple vehicle pickup occurring in the southbound lanes. Listen to the vehicles slamming into each other. This is bad. @NWSNorman
