When I was in the hospital on life support a girl was begging Mitchell for my AMEX credit card (he said no). 57 comments here. Mostly people saying how they hate door to door salesman, they curse at them, they think it’s a scam, they threaten them, or they don’t open the door at all. So how does this work so well? Reps are resilient. They get abused all day long and they still go hit the next door. The belief that the next door is a sale keeps them going clear until dark. It’s a hard job. Hardest I’ve ever had. But it’s opened doors for me. Between my freshman and sophomore year in college I made $25k. The next summer I made $40k. My third summer I started my own business and have used door to door sales to grow the company to a valuation of ~$5-7 million at the age of 27. We train our reps to be ethical, kind, and to have integrity. Despite all the loud people saying they hate us, there is no better way for a pest control company to grow.
