In an age where we have access to high speed cameras and the most advanced biomechanical data ever, it doesn’t make sense to me that pitchers, particularly starting pitchers, are breaking at record rates. This is the next great issue plaguing MLB.

Last September, @bymichaelrosen wrote that Janson Junk varied his arm angle but maintained the shape on his four seamer. So Junk said he went to @DrivelineBB & asked @cwhite23_ to help him find his ideal arm angle. He's settled on one this year, & that's what gave him more velo.

@thepainguy I don’t think it’ll ever stop unless players negotiate for teams to get draft pick compensation or int’l pool money for successfully keeping pitchers healthy in the CBA. I don’t think that’s particularly likely, but that’s the only way I see us getting past this.

What's so stupid / terrible / frustrating about the Tommy John Twist is pitchers have to be TAUGHT to do it. And there's nothing essential -- or helpful -- to Twisting. It's just what everyone teaches because everyone teaches it.

@allinkid Do you use IMDb for ratings? If so you can import them all, it’s easy. If not, well that’s ok. I get the backlog fear, but if you chip away and just do a couple years at a time and just mark stuff as “watched” versus rating every single thing, it won’t be as tedious as you think.

The Academy refuses to understand that they are killing any relevance for the #Oscars keeping the ceremony in MAR, as they’ve just announced the 99th & 100th editions’ slots: MAR 14, 2027 & MAR 05, 2028! Most films are not even in theatres anymore & already lost all momentum by the time the ceremony happens. Things are getting so bad that the 2 biggest winners of the most recent #Oscars, #OneBattleAfterAnother & #SINNERS, returned to theatres the weekend after winning and no one cared. Remember those days when a movie would actually blow up after winning an Oscar? We haven’t seen that happening since #EverythingEverywhereAllAtOnce. Even #Oppenheimer barely benefited from its Academy Awards triumph. We are not in Pre-Covid anymore. The amount of offerings we get weekly and the intense discourse around several issues are so plentiful and chaotic now that everything ages and loses appeal much quicker than ever before. By the time the Academy is finally delivering their awards, people have already moved on from anything that came out in the year prior and eager to look forward to what’s just around the corner. The Academy needs to rethink the whole awards calendar. If this years terrible ratings and no boost not even resurgence at all to any of the winners didn’t make it clear, I don’t know what will. I’d don’t even know how much of its relevance will be left by the time the Oscars go to YouTube in 2029…
