@RealityGirlZine So, my suggestion is, find something at least slightly more positive, hopeful, and interesting to you than these negative thoughts, and listen to quality content about it until you make a safe place for yourself in your own head.
You don't have to be a temple to your grief.

If you've failed at meditation like I usually have, you've seen this.
I was feeling better to the extent that I replaced my negative thoughts with almost anything else.

@heterodoxan yes, you’re right. I have to take my dog for a walk right now. I had a life coach for a minute and that was more constructive than therapy, which has always devolved into to me rehearsing my tired imaginary stand-up routine. I’ll listen to something positive today, thank you

@RealityGirlZine But I started taking walks and listening to personal development and self help talks, including Jordan Peterson lectures.
At first, this was just temporary distraction, but it was better than the moody music I'd been listening to before that.
Gradually, it started helping.

@_Iago_nort I don’t know, I think this is the way to achieve actually being a good person. Like if I were to say to myself, “you’re an okay person, it’s fine”, well actually I know that’s not true because I spend 24 hours a day with myself. I could instead get rid of the desire to be “good”
