We had a referendum - you didn’t like the result ..a clear NO. If the result had been YES would you have agreed to a divisive and poisonous rerun ? The countries who became independent were not part of the UK, the nation state comprising Scotland , NI, Wales and England.

@AngusBMacNeil Edinburgh Airport can't get stairs (or a bus) to the plane, or passengers to immigration, or luggage to the belts, in that time. Anyone arriving in Edinburgh for the first time must wonder what kind of place they have travelled to.

Amazing to think that with current infrastructure Edinburgh city centre to Edinburgh Airport could be a 9 minute journey. Enabling that to actually happen would revolutionise Edinburgh's economy.

No one in Europe thinks that Europe would win. But imagine this: U.S. and European soldiers wounded and killed in action, broadcast in real time on TV in America, a U.S and Europe that for decades have stood shoulder to shoulder in various wars, now fighting each other. “Disaster” is probably the first word that comes to mind.

This is truly insane, and it should be front page news across America.  Denmark secretly deployed soldiers to Greenland prepared to blow up airport runways to stop a U.S. invasion. They brought blood supplies to treat the wounded. France, Germany, Norway, and Sweden quietly coordinated against us. This was not a drill. This was our closest allies preparing to fight Americans. Let that sink in. NATO allies. Countries whose soldiers have fought and died alongside ours for decades. They looked at this president and decided they had to prepare for the worst. Fewer allies does not make America great. It makes us more isolated, more vulnerable, and it hands Russia and China exactly what they have always wanted: an America abandoned by its friends. The UK Government admitted that they changed the rules without properly notifying the affected women. The Labour Party’s treatment of the WASPI women is nothing short of a scandal. In the SNP, we will keep standing with them until the UK Government delivers the compensation they deserve and have fought so hard for.

@Jan_Leeming I'm with you... if the child is not old enough to know how to behave (unless of course they have special needs etc) then they are not old enough to appreciate the meal and the atmosphere and would really be better at home until a little older.

Perhaps this shows my age. I took a friend as a birthday present to lunch at the Pig at Bridge - not inexpensive. Lovely ambiance - slightly spoiled by a screaming child at lunch. When I paid and remonstrated, was treated as though I were the one at fault.
