There are an enormously high number of women who seem to think that it is perfectly acceptable to defraud their husbands. An occasional "not now" might be justified, but if it is a pattern then they have defrauded their husbands; i.e. cheated them. Paul *specifically* uses the word "defraud" to describe that. Mitigating circumstances might be genuine abuse. But healing from that must be very high on the priority list and it must be intentional. Every week, month, year, or decade where it remains unresolved is a decade where the spouse has been cheated and lied to. I know that it is trendy in modern times to define marriage according to our whims. But that is one of many modern flights of fancy. Marriage essentially defines itself. We must merely align with it. If there are legitimate issues that interfere with that, then those are of top importance. And there is nothing notable that interferes then they are committing infidelity, though not quite rising to the point of adultery. But it's not far off. Does it rise to the level of physical abuse? No. It's tough to argue that. But it is ab-usage. Marriage is a relationship defined by sex and built upon sex. To bind another to yourself in that kind of relationship and then ditch on the foundational aspect of it treats the spouse with complete and utter contempt. So perhaps not abuse, but abuse-adjacent.

No, you are not being abused if your wife doesn’t want to have sex with you. Be serious. Maybe there’s an intimacy breakdown that’s partially your fault. Maybe she’s processing sexual trauma. Maybe it’s physically painful for her. Man up. Stop playing the victim like a petulant child. Tend to her heart and cultivate emotionally intimacy, and see what happens.
