yes, i fundamentally see no problem with a double sided contract where one party swears to protect and take care of the other party and the other serves in return, where each can be acted upon by the state if they dont fulfill their duties not all slavery is "i can beat the shit out of them because they're my property and noone can do anything about it" even when that was the case during chattel slavery, most slaveowners did not do it because it would have degraded their property

@ilex_ulmus A common problem in seeking better alternative norms, morals, or life styles is that they will be disproportionately attractive to those that are the maladaptive with existing systems. Moral progress is hard when it is easy to inadvertently reward defectors the most.
