@Reardon_Steel @LPGeorgia 2006... So a NH win, not libertarians nor free staters. It was too early for FSP/libertarians to have had any major impact, had bipartisan support (86% vote support), and was not the only state to address this after the national Kelo decision.

I was reliably told by data center supporters (including some libertarians) that objections to data centers are out of ignorance.
And IIRC, some libertarians gave @LPGeorgia Congressional candidate Andrew Underwood a hard time for supporting some limitation on data centers.
Andrew ran in the special election when MTG resigned. Clay Fuller won. And while there doesn't appear to be any specific commentary on data centers from him, American Mission, a super PAC tied to AI industry billionaires like OpenAI & Palantir donated $600k+ to his campaign.
And now it appears people may be losing their property.

If real, this is an interesting data set. Not well correlated with median income, or rents or cost of labor.
The data is a bit skewed because it does not appear to take into account the number of cups sold (so a small number of high priced coffee shops that don't sell a lot can still drive the average).
My guess is that we have low shop density and when we have a coffee shop in a rural area it's "fancy" and perhaps tourist driven - and the lack of dense population centers with lots of moderate priced shops to pull down the average is why we have a higher average.
But - that is a guess and trying to apply one rule to all state's distributions probably won't hold up.

The batteries are not the primary problem. Other factors (opinion) drives resale more:
#1 EV are earlier in their list curves. This means new vehicles are dropping in cost to produce and price. This puts downward pressure on older vehicles that does not exist in a legacy tech.
#2 even with sw updates, new hw in new models is meaningful upgrade (ryzen proc, hw4, hw5, etc) further pushing prices down on older vehicles
#3 unfounded battery degradation worry
#4 actual battery degradation

Reduces the risk of AI seeing secrets or humans accidentally committing. Not perfect. (runtime agent exposure, centralized attack point) - helps a lot.
