@StuntmanStu Absolutely ridiculous..and for the city to give in to the whiners. It's more disruption to the city by having these roads closed. Unbelievable or is it?

And you wonder why people don't travel downtown. Roads are meant to be driven on. I'll accept the first 3 nasty comments that come my way and have a kind discussion but won't interact with the usual suspects

@StuntmanStu Who takes this road downtown? It forces you to end on Laurier westbound. people commuting to work only? gov workers who don't go to the office? Into a part of town with 6 other main routes? So people who live downtown need to ceed our public spaces to those who pay 1/4 our taxes

@siobhanwanders I remember how noticeably quieter the city was when everything shut down in spring 2020 and realizing it was the reduction in traffic on the Queensway and Bronson.

Someone posted in our neighborhood group how quiet it is with the 417 being closed. Cities aren’t loud, cars are! Happy 417 partial closure weekend to all who celebrate. Enjoy the quiet and imagining how nice #Ottawa could be without an ugly loud highway running through it!

Went out to Stittsville and back for a puppy training class and I truly do not understand how people live like this and why everyone loves driving. Being in a car in traffic for 1.5 hours there and back was exhausting. #Autowa drivers stuck in traffic on the 417 are you okay?
