@teachthemx3 @SonoranRed What happened to if you are absent/tardy for so many days… you don’t graduate.

I have a senior on my roster who hasn’t attended my class a single day this semester. She showed up today for the first time.
We have 7 days left before grades are finalized for seniors.
My administrator just asked me to see what I can do to help her graduate.
In case anyone here is a new follower, this is why I’m leaving public education.

What a finish! The Mississippi girls flag football championship came down to the final play, as QB Lani McDoniel heaves it to freshman Ava Hall for the walk-off TD! Congrats to George County! 🏈

Winning a state championship is a relentless body of work over the course of 4 months of games. Georgia is 30 regular season games and best of 3 every round of playoffs. It’s overcoming adversity, injuries, tough losses. Bus rides, late night home, still getting schoolwork done…. Much of the work in top programs is done through the offseason. Weight room, skill development sessions, etc. The level of competition is often crazy good. In 2017, we faced 18 - D1 commitments on the pitchers mound alone. I know not every school (in every state) is in this boat…. Yet it’s still apples to apples in that state. But winning a state title with your school mates is the most amazing things to ever experience. And the local community is behind it all. Every part of it is amazing!

All this hate for evangelicals when, statistically, we are the only bloc consistently holding it down for biblical marriage, the pro-life cause, secure borders, and every other issue.
We are by far the most conservative and united in every political, cultural, and moral area. This is not statistically contested. Without the strength and cohesion of this group, conservatives lose everything. Consequently, the country loses everything. Not an exaggeration.
So ask yourself: why would someone want to divide, destroy, and demoralize this stalwart group?
The answer is obvious if the person is progressive, but it becomes a bit murky when the people targeting this group are on the “right,” right? Something to ponder

Mike Vrabel: Insinuates his Christian RB is “uneducated” after defending Jaden Ivey, & warns him about sharing personal beliefs because they “represent the team” & “the organization."
Vrabel days later: Goes to an adults-only resort with NFL Insider Dianna Russini. They’re seen interlocking fingers & hanging by the pool.
What a hypocrite.

@BretonWes @TrustTrost Last week I worked 80 hours. That’s a conservative estimate.

High school coaches: Paid more than ever. Collecting camp money. Adding a percentage of that pay to their pension - in Illinois. More technology than ever to do their jobs and in most cases, a bigger budget to do things than decades of past.
The result: More lazy high school coaches than ever.
It’s something I hear consistently from their peers, parents, school leaders and I’ve seen it first hand. They play games with postseason seeding, literally screwing innocent kids.
Years ago, high school coaches were volunteers, community leaders - yes leaders off the field - and then smaller stipends started to appear.
High school coaches will nail club coaches or trainers saying it’s a business. I don’t see high school coaches doing it for free. In fact, I see high school coaches looking at ways to do things in the offseason.
You can’t have it both ways.
I also see high school coaches gaming the system as they near retirement, coaching lower levels of some sports they have no business coaching just to collect a check and pad that pension.
You can’t have it both ways.
I’ve been in and around high schools now nearing my fifth different decade, covering and working with school leaders locally in Illinois and nationally.
Just as I say with parents, there are great coaches and there are bad ones. And trust me, you know the great coaches right away. You do - everyone knows this.
But in the end, the adults in and around youth and high school sports are the problem. It’s not the kids.
High schools need to figure out how to enhance or clean house. I’d rather have an adult who actually cares and knows nothing about the sport than one literally using kids to pad their personal gain.

LSU and Mizzou just went 3-7 in Clearwater with three losses to unranked teams.
That’s not just a slow start. That’s a warning sign.
Are two SEC coaches already on the hot seat? 🔥

No, the pro-life movement does not exist primarily because we empathize with the baby.
We champion the right of babies to not be murdered because it is the right thing to do, regardless of whether we can feel what the baby feels.
If human rights movements were motivated primarily by empathy, they would be extremely fickle and untrustworthy.
You free slaves because owning image bearers is wrong, regardless of whether you can empathize with the pain of shackles
You feed the hungry because helping those in need is right, regardless of whether or not you also feel their hunger pangs
This is why Christian love is so radical and culture-shifting. It is not a love dependent upon your ability to relate to someone, or upon any of your feelings at all. It is a love fully motivated by the fact that Jesus loves us and that He calls us to love others, whether we can put ourselves in their shoes or not.
Empathy *can* be helpful in guiding us to love, but it is not synonymous with love—or virtue or kindness.
Empathy can also lead harmful, because feeling how deeply someone feels can blind us to objective reality and morality. That is what I call Toxic Empathy, and it is the power behind so many bad cultural, moral and political decisions in our country.
That’s why Christians should opt for a truth-in-love approach rather than an empathy-led approach.
This is not complicated, you are not stupid, @philvischer, and, for all the time you’ve put into talking about my book for the past year, you could’ve spared a couple hours to consult the source material. So, at this point, your constant mischaracterizations are just deceit.
Phil Vischer@philvischer
@ItsAnAmishThing @conservmillen And a massive pro-life movement because we empathize with the baby.

If your Pastor believes the Bible has errors, denies that Jesus died to pay the penalty for your sin, denies the reality of judgment and hell, and affirms and celebrates what God calls sin, it's time to find a new church.
