This is as much ahistorical mythmaking as any woke propaganda. Canadian identity is British-American identity, period. The founders and leaders of Canada oppressed the French and Natives, they did not "interact" in a way that produced some sort of hybrid identity. That this oppression was much less harsh than in the woke mythos, and that it doesn’t imply that Canadians should perpetually apologize or adopt a post-national identity or import infinity Muslims, doesn’t mean it didn’t exist.
