The single greatest trading card of my childhood!
This is the Larry Bird/Magic Johnson Rookie Card in a PSA GEM MT 10! This is a truly sensational example of a widely coveted tribute to three Hall of Famers. 🏀🏀🏀

@LinksGems Here are some walls at Keswick’s Full Cry! And a new one coming to #9 soon. I’m sure other Dye courses have great examples, too!

(2 of 2 - walls…)
5. The farm wall on the 8th of the North Course at Stonewall (bonus points for having to hit over it twice).
6. The secret walled beach behind the 16th at Cypress Point.
7. The walls at Shelter Harbor, which are everywhere here.
8. The boundary wall on the 6th hole at Myopia Hunt Club.
Which great walls am I missing?

Tonight’s weird golf topic: walls.
I absolutely love a good wall on a golf course. Especially an ancient stone wall. And ESPECIALLY when that wall is in play.
Scotland golf courses are full of great walls. And there’s a couple in the states too.
What’s your favorite golf course wall?
Here are 8 of mine, starting with 4 in Scotland:
1. The Pit at North Berwick (perhaps the greatest wall of them all).
2. The famous Old Station Road wall at the Road Hole on the Old Course at St. Andrews.
3. The old boundary wall at the 9th at Crail.
4. This ancient, crumbling wall on the 10th at Elie.

@fried_egg_golf I’d also consider less grooves on the club face. Watch somebody play hickory clubs compared to today’s technology and even soft greens will bounce and roll.

Sounds like a good reason for a rollback

Here's what Justin Thomas said yesterday, on the topic of Valhalla playing easy: "It just doesn't matter what golf course you put us on, on planet earth; if the greens are soft we're going to tear it up. It just doesn't have anything to defend itself."

@garrettwestholt @tonynyssegcs Agree, and I would get a dual grade in case you do more than drainage down the road.
Spectra makes a nice magnetized receiver for about $500 that’s nice for putting on a bucket, blade, or trencher.

@tonynyssegcs Topcon spend the extra money and get the one with slope so easy to use
