@wonderofscience Why would that "disorient" predators? These animals are enclosed in pens that presumably protect them from predators. This looks a bit like the bizarre behavior of chickens in industrial poultry plants.

@wonderofscience That also occurs near the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic off the Florida coast. It seems to have something to do with a sharp pressure/temperature gradient, possibly involving both the water temperature and the air temp/pressure. I've seen it once in person, with 5 funnels. Awesome
