@MengTo feels like it maps on to many of the things I’ve been doing. You know I’m gonna send haptics on hits and spells and stuff to the trackpad xD Maybe more subtle to move with the cards so it feels like it hit it and drag etc

@DannyLimanseta I always love your polish and fine details xD You ever do haptics? Make the trackpad feel like it’s in the game, or phone screen game controller or maybe idk if some mice have haptics / rumble x.com/redrockmoons/s…

Had a pretty productive week. Flow is such a strange state, it feels almost sublime when you’re in it. Grok 4.5 in Cursor certainly played a big part in that. - Upgraded the dungeon visuals to make it feel more atmospheric - Redesigned 18 enemies and added different enemy poses when they attack or get hurt - Redesigned all 86 cards in the game, I basically had Grok guide me through the redesign process in a structured way, card by card - Reworked many of the combat VFX to make it feel more juicy Still more work to go but really happy with the progress. Steam page if you'd like to wishlist the game: store.steampowered.com/app/4364310/Co…

The biggest Blackpill for academia for me was getting genuinely good at RL for robotics control policies. Just reading what is published. . 99.99999% of it is slop (RAPTOR is good though) This is even worse for RL in general! The way I do academia now is I have a list of people that I programmatically stalk (scrape) and have a local RSS feed of what they're doing. Lots of ETH Zurich people there. Some Berkeley people. But it's really really sparse. So much... Bullshit

Honestly almost every time I go through AI conference reviews/rebuttal I feel more and more disillusioned with the entire peer review process.

I’m not there yet as I get better hardware and time. Plan is to be able to hot swap any model or tool and yes start swapping them out For now I’m building around those and inserting action graphs and having a tool that runs or views or actions the other tools in ways that I want and can be driven with little bursts of local mode and deterministic code. Attempting to port something by from cuda to metal is fun xD running image gen, image to 3D all locally is pretty amazing and about to be huge upgrades in my /buddy expansion on pets and games and apps and such. I think my haptics and visualization is gonna be crazy with that upgrade can’t wait

Now that the cost of writing software has gone to 0, everyone is trying to increase the amount of software they produce and rely on. I'm doing the opposite.

FLUX 3 for me feels like a better SORA. I think people are going to make some really wacky stuff with this model. “Girl from the attached ref images is break dancing on a flattened cardboard box on a bustling NYC sidewalk in 1993”

Opus 5 has some of the best understanding of 3D out of any model. I asked it to create a kart racing simulator and the output was incredible!

SpaceX's Starship rocket just performed a flip maneuver and precisely splashed down on target in the Indian Ocean next to a few buoys with @Starlink on them. The softest splashdown we've seen yet. SpaceX employees ended the stream chanting "USA! USA! USA!"🇺🇸

I use trackpad hell I even played competitive Nidalee that way back during Hotshot GG’s reign. So I love putting haptics on my Mac and now wanted to feel my music more like Beethoven. Maybe I turn it down or have headphones on or just want a cool visual. We’re bringing back tamagotchi with /pet so why not bring back Winamp and visualizations This is just the start xD in a couple prompts lol…

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter. AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models. images.nvidia.com/pdf/Open-Weigh…

I was in the plane this week A guy next to me was eating a bag of Haribo candy, it was so good, just destroying this bag, I wanted this candy too Then he ordered 2 cola and downed them Then he ravaged a ham cheese croissant Then another cola Then he downed a whole can of Pringles He went through 2000+ calories in less than an hour I was jealous of all the good tasting processed trash he was eating, seducing me, but then I also realized he looks like he was 12 months pregnant and fat and would probably have a heart attack in 5 years Then it was easier for me to accept that no I shouldn't eat that stuff and I ate my steak Thank you anonymous fat man

@OpenAIDevs At this point, I don't see how the pets and GPT-Live can co-exist, since they literally cannot be on the screen at the same time. Can you please merge? :)

I think it's worth it for me to start reorienting my life and relationship with my computers. The tech has progressed enough that my prediction for the future is a lot more crystalized -- not the final outcome but when it's going to happen. Amusingly, not much is changing. It's more of a doubling down on how I've always lived my life. Never relying on closed source software, closed source hardware, things that aren't hackable by me. Linux. One off c programs. My own infrastructure, however miniscule in power draw. The technology I rely on is very carefully chosen. I think about the aesthetics of it, but more than that, the hackability -- the hackability is what allows me to very carefully tune my experience for me, yacine, an Ottawa father who works in the technology sector, a man with little connection to his genealogy, a man with an appreciation for nature. My eink tablet, for example, is completely hackable. The files it produces, the operating system it runs on, the battery swappable and the radios breakable. Hackability is at a premium As I set up my camera, a little toy I bought for myself, I find myself frustrated. It's a computer. Why can't I configure it? Why can't I drop an ssh key and just remote into it and do what I want? To this end, the end of hackability, I will go as far as making my own technology. There is no point to this. It just makes me happy. It is insane to build my own prosumer camera. It will cost 10x more and be .2 as good. But it will be mine. And I'm not limited in what I can do with it. My computer, my firmware, my possibilities. Free, free as in freedom!

Our models are way over parameterized, our learning algorithms are still incredibly slow, our machines are too power hungry, and our understanding of intelligence is too shallow. The path goes much, much further. It terrifies me how early we are
