@GreyBirth @mindyisser No1 is going to help you. It isn't the same as "pick up your boot straps". There is a significantly lower barrier of entry when everything you need to learn is at your finger tips on the same device to order food. You could even ask AI to make you a grocery list based on a budget

@mindyisser I see all of the responses of “be an adult”. And I agree, but this is the same thinking as “pick yourself up by your bootstraps”. They don’t teach it in school. If parents don’t teach it, it’s less likely to be picked up on their own. Everyone needs help, not humiliation.

@LazerNYC @MichaelKarlis Anyone can run for a primary, and she hasn't gotten the nomination yet. She's gross but I'll choose to be concerned if she actually wins the nomination

So let me get this straight. A congressional candidate openly talks about putting American Zionist into internment camps and castration processing centers, and we’re supposed to pretend this is just edgy political discourse? Replace the word Zionists with almost any other group and this would be national breaking news for weeks.

TX-35 Democratic candidate Maureen Galindo says she will convert ICE detention center in Karnes County into an internment camp for "American Zionists." "It will also be a castration processing center for pedophiles, which will probably be most of the Zionists," she added.

@DeRhuyter @ZaraShepherd9 @Snakeeater36 But they can't. Having the expectation that they could but often we're not able and/or asking too much of them, combined with not having enough SOF, was what spawned the SFABs as a short lived idea. You're still downplaying the effect of psychology and desire as well

@ZaraShepherd9 @Snakeeater36 This isn't something I'm disagreeing with. Obviously they are psychologically superior on most metrics. Why is everyone saying this. My point was originally soley that Infantry can absolutely complete most of the missions given to SOF these days. Nothing more.

@FrankBednarz @politicalmath Yes, but OP and loud RW voices don't want competitive districts. They want reliable R+10 districts which just isn't possible in NE due to human geography. We should move to a proportional representation system.

This is such a perfect example of the left-right dynamic. New England (everything east and north of New York) already has zero GOP representation. They already nuked the ground. The GOP in the South is going to severely reduce Dem representation. But this isn't the "opening salvo". It is a response to an already partisan situation. The Dems went first. They are angry that the GOP can also play that game, so they threaten consequences that can't come to pass because they already did their worst.
Marco Foster@MarcoFoster_

AOC: “It is time for the North to pull up to the South and let them know exactly what they have uncorked with this injustice. They think they can draw us out of power. They do not know the sleeping giant they just awakened. What they thought was the final blow is actually just the opening silo”

@FrankBednarz @politicalmath ME-2 in '25 shifted 21 points to vote No on ballot question 1. In '24 King ran up a +30 on the Republican in ME-2 even though he is a Dem caucus. ME-2 will probably flip this cycle but it is by far a more independent and unpredictable district than calling it a GOP district.

@FrankBednarz @politicalmath That just isn't really true. It's another D+1 or D+2 district. In the last 26 years, the GOP held it for 4 years. It's been redrawn in 2012 and 2022 should be noted. But the 2012 redraw largely accounted for the change from D to R in the 2014 midterm but Ds regained control in 20

Breaking: Two Trump White House officials were caught on a hidden camera, per @JamesOKeefeIII The First is Maxim Lott, Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy Second is Benjamin Ellisten, Senior Budget Analyst and Fund Manager for the White House They admitted: • Trump is using $1B of tax payer money to retrofit his new plane • Domestic policy decisions are made based on what "feels like a good idea" • No formal cost-benefit analysis exists for major policy calls • Staff bypass the Oval Office and act on their own interpretation of Trump's preferences • Ellisten called Trump "a madman" and said "We've got to get rid of him" There appears to be people in the White House acting on Trumps behalf without his direct approval

I need someone in Maine to ask Platner to take off his shirt at his next Town Hall. Since Oct, there are no public photos of him shirtless, and I guarantee you that he still has the Totenkopf. The “cover-up” was obviously a sticker tattoo! Just look the wrinkles!

@ck_gen @EmmaMAshford All the job gains are in retail, warehousing, and elder care for an aging population. Not exactly great jobs that make up for 11% of jobs, all in Information Technology, have been wiped in 4 years. Not to mention wage growth has been wiped by inflation.

Amazing quote in this FT piece. American financial elites are so insulated, they don’t believe that physical realities matter for the economy.

@yinzer_g Raleigh, Nashville, and SLC are best options. Raleigh has a motivated owner, a richer baseball history, financing figured out for a stadium. Charlotte doesn't have that.

MLB expansion?? Charlotte, NC - Good option Montreal, CN - No to Canada Oakland, CA - Just lost their team, why go back? Nashville, TN - Best option Orlando, FL - can't fill seats in the other 2 FL baseball stadiums Portland, OR - disaster of a city Raliegh, NC - Decent option, very small market Sacramento, CA - Would cost $5B to build a $750M stadium Salt Lake City, UT - Good option, small market. Vancouver, CN - No to Canada If they were going to add 2 teams, I'd probably go with Nashville and either Salt Lake City or Charlotte.
Maury Brown@BizballMaury

MLB expansion is in the not-too-distant future. Here's a detailed guide to each of the top markets. I spoke to each of the active groups for this report. There are 10 markets examined: ·      Charlotte, NC ·      Montreal, Quebec, Canada ·      Oakland, CA ·      Nashville, TN ·      Orlando, FL ·      Portland, OR ·      Raliegh, NC ·      Sacramento, CA ·      Salt Lake City, UT ·      Vancouver, BC, Canada READ THE REPORT 👇🏼 forbes.com/sites/maurybro…

I made this argument a few years back - I called them the “second tier cities” - and I’m glad to see it’s reaching a wider audience These cities mostly avoid the governance problems that seem to plague the major US cities and their amenities now (largely) rival the super stars Unless you need a very specific career, you can do very well basically anywhere now in the US
