@JedKingly The true understanding for the sequels was realizing like 90% of problems with TLJ are in fact issues with TFA that Johnson had to deal with.

Incredibly funny that force awakens is the one that establishes he’s “given up” and is cowarding away on an island. Rian Johnson is just following up on that idea and interrogating it. Why would he be on the island if he’s just gonna leave without a second thought?
Best of Star Wars@bestofstarwar

“I said to Rian Johnson, ‘Jedi don’t give up.’ I mean, even if he had a problem, he would maybe take a year to try and regroup. But if he made a mistake, he would try and right that wrong. So right there, we had a fundamental difference.” -Mark Hamill

@theunifyingfork The sith are great because they're a bunch of silly evil guys. You look at a meeting of ones from different eras and you just see this.

worship of the mandalorians and the sith is always so funny to me because its 9/10 a reactionary response to the jedi

@RazorwireRPG Where does this classic fall in the bleak fucked up vs lollypop funhouse because it has a bit of both?

Post Apoc fiction is in such a weird place: it's either the bleakest most fucked up sad shit ever (The Road) or some kind of lollypop 1950's funhouse (Borderlands, whatever Fallout is supposed to be). Games are the same as we have the divide between Eastern European titles and again: Fallout. One of the many reasons I love New Vegas (and the OG games) is that they straddle that divide well. Unfortunately, because nuance and tact is hard - we only ever get extremes today. Balanced thoughtful worldbuilding seems like a lost art.

@Ortho_Dixie @Empty_America More likely smaller breeds than the grey wolf that no longer exist. Though dingo's are a good look at dogs before more modern breeding caused a lot of rapid change, at least in the case of how they would have been some 5000 years ago.

Dogs are functionally a different species from gray wolves, feral dogs never return to a wolf shape, they stabilize as 40lb "yellow dogs." Large dogs are a small animal with inherited gigantism. Like if you bred humans up to Gorilla size, they die young.
Kairo@Kairo_Anatomika

Why do large dogs have heart problems so often? Large breed the dogs live shorter life because their hearts give out. But these large breed dogs are usually smaller than wolves. So at what point during dog domestication did these large dogs start developing weaker Hearts than their wild counterparts?

is there an explanation for part 2 having much better direction and style than part 1 even though they're part of the same season and to my knowledge had the same directors and production?

@FugeusRedux @thereisnobeth Falls into a bigger debate as the galaxy as a whole has seemingly agreed they are not but one could argue the case philosophically.

@thereisnobeth Their class position is kind of dictated by the question of droid personhood tbh - if droids are people, they are petit bourgeois (slave traders 😬) if droids aren’t people, it makes the Jawas thieves (more Lumpen)

@logorn_gadum They are a great addition to the world, one if my favorites even. Though I will admit infinite had some quality designs, ill hold Jega 'Rdomnai as one of the best especially knowing how elites feel about prosthetics.

Halo Infinite story was pretty pointless but I realized part of that issue is because of the disaster that was Halo 5 Guardians Gameplay? It's good. Being serious. But the campaign story is actually SO UNFATHOMABLY BAD that I think its the sole reason Halo as a main narrative (Chief stories specifically) can't really do anything meaningful. Cortana was turned into a dictator who killed billions, Joy is literally going to eventually go crazy as well, and Chief himself is so insanely overpowered that there's nothing that can be a legitimate threat to him, he might as well be a God at this point.

@crisjolus And they all shift and change, some renounce the Jedi way, some hide themselves trying to survive, some do their best to fight the Empire from the shadows. But in the end, most of them follow the spirit of the Jedi far greater than anything the Empire could throw to destroy them

@logorn_gadum Well with OC's I'm gonna be in a similar boat as a banished aligned Elite who has broken various rules or laws in the post schism era in the name of survival. So I'd understand.

'Serious' moment here. If you met Logorn Gadum in universe, whether as yourself or your in universe OC, what would you think of him? He fought in the Human Covenant War. There's no way for you to truly know what he did in those final years of the war, before the truce. He didn't join the Covenant or Banished by his own choice, but at the same time his actions against the UNSC have been in varying wars. He is a soldier, a pirate, and even by elite laws, most likely a criminal. But he doesn't seek out a fight. So. What do you do in the presence of an 8 foot tall, 80 year ex-Covenant now Banished soldier who personally never even understood the human war?
