@WWRKDS @DiscussingFilm Holy shit a teacher that admits the way they instruct needs to be specifically tailored to each person? Weird, you’d never get a public school educator to admit such things, cause then the fallacy of their education model would be fully exposed.

“Space math”. lol. This is just math. And it’s not that hard. Ryan was trying to memorize what to write down, instead of understanding what he was supposed to be writing down. Not his fault, he’s an actor. But his statement is reminiscent of a lot of problems of people in the sciences that have trouble with advanced mathematics. This is a common failing. People try to memorize full proofs instead of just understanding the underlying simple equations and their relationships to the real world. The proofs then come naturally. I tutored engineering and physics in grad school. The number of times that I simply had to change the framing of the problem for people to “get it”, was illustrative. We teach math and science wrong (IMO)

Ryan Gosling tells us that he couldn’t learn any of the science for ‘PROJECT HAIL MARY’. “There were sequences where I was drawing on a whiteboard and I’m supposed to be working out complex space math problems. Andy wanted it to be actual functioning space math…”

@nickiacoban I’d like to see what these projections are based from. Not saying Hutson isn’t head and shoulders the top of the class that deaft. But to say Freij is unlikely to be an NHL defensemen, when he scored 11 PTS in the SHL as a rookie at 20. His trajectory is looking solid.

@lysshoude I work with people, so do you I’d imagine? We as humans make a read within a few minutes, if not seconds. Some of these guys are given opportunities on those judgements, others are given opportunities based on if they show they want it as well.

@lysshoude I’d imagine most of these guys have certain personality traits, that either rub others the wrong way or inhibit others to be able to see that their talent supersedes their personality downfalls.

@DrAlmarielao I’ve been saying this for years. I move never questioned the child care aspect. I question educators and how they take so much time off, yet always complain about getting paid more. These people are all sycophants

A mother who works about 70 hours a week received a school calendar listing all the holidays, early releases, and teacher planning days. Curious, she used ChatGPT to organize every day her kids would be off from school during the year. When she saw the full list, she was shocked by how many days there actually were. Her husband stays home with the kids, but she started wondering how families with two full-time working parents manage all those days off. School schedules can look manageable at first glance, but when you add up all the days off, it really highlights how challenging childcare logistics can be for many working families. How do households where both parents work full-time handle the large number of school holidays, early release days, and breaks during the year?

@SideshowBob63 @NHLJetsNation Easy there fella. Stanley only started scoring this year, so could be an anomaly. However if you pay attention to the Moose, we already have his replacement as a 6th guy that’s big and can fight and arguably plays better defence than Stanley. His name is Tyrel Bauer!!!

@NHLJetsNation How much was Big Stan's agent asking? We should have paid him Pionk money cuz were going to be looking for a big, fighting, scoring defenceman next time we make the playoffs.

@SuitablePolitic He’s a good goalie. Not great enough to elevate his team during the Stanley Cup Playoffs though.

There's something unique about the way Connor Hellebeuyck plays goalie that may or may not get discussed. It's supremely in the weeds, but he's broken it down himself. Every goalie in the world is making reads with a tapestry of information that'd shock you. It's no less mentally taxing than being an NFL QB. The position of the shooter and all 4 of his teammates, the position of his defenders in front of him, the handedness of the shooter and the angle of the stick's blade. This is all just part of the information that a good goalie will process immediately. Hellebeuyck goes a step further than that. He doesn't only see and process all of this information. He actively feeds shooters disinformation to influence their reactions. He'll show them holes that he knows he's opening with his stance to entice them to shoot there and then close them. You could see him do it in the gold medal game, tricking Macklin Celebrini into taking a wrist shot at pad height from 17 feet out. On a breakaway. The McDavid breakaway featured McDavid simply running out of room before he could make a move because Hellebeuyck gave him information overload, and McDavid is one of the sport's fastest processors of information. He's playing chess and the sport is playing checkers. He's not a good skater or particularly athletic, two qualities that often determine goalie success. But he's become the best in the world because he's THAT far ahead mentally. It's a hell of a story.

@CurtisHouck @BretBaier Hey @NHLJets you better ensure Connor gets a standing ovation and acknowledgement of his win and gold medal at your next home game. Set an example and show the class and pride that hockey players and fans have for the game.

USA Hockey goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to @BretBaier on what it’ll be like to return to his NHL team in Canada, the Winnipeg Jets.... “Yeah, you know, I actually am meeting the team in California. I’ll take a day. I need a day after this whirlwind. Mentally, this is going to be hard to get back in it. I need at least 24 hours to wrap my brain around this because this has been not only the most fun experience in my life, but you just see the pride in this country, and everyone that had our back and we had their back and there’s just so much more. It’s bigger than the game of hockey, and being able to go back. I know my city loves me in Winnipeg and I'm really looking forward to try to bring some joy back to that city as well and hopefully chasing a Cup, but in this moment, as I speak to you now, I am really enjoying every day and every second that I have.”

@NikLynam The actual crazy thing about the entire situation, is the Jets literally have a version that’s 5 inches shorter that plays for the Moose. His name is Tyrel Bauer. And he actually wins fights.

@MwendiaJnr You’re not talking to enough parents. We are just getting to no diapers with our 8year old after starting potty training at the start of the pandemic in March of 2020. This is still a thing. We have dryers indoors nowadays.

Why do kids these days hardly ever wet the bed anymore? Growing up, it was super common to see parents and neighbors hanging beddings out in the sun to dry. Some guys even wet the bed until high school. Nowadays, most children under four rarely do it at all.

@jpolly22 All that to say, if the Jets really unload all of that for truly a huge haul of draft picks, some prospects. I’d expect after the trade deadline to see Zhilkin, Yager, Lambert, Chibrikov, Ford, Heinola and please Bauer in the Jets lineup. I’d like to see Bauer rearrange faces

@jpolly22 Looking at the D Core. You obviously move on from Schenn and Miller, as both are UFAs and your biggest trade piece in Stanley gets moved as well. You have Boumidienne who should step in nicely next year. 3/4
