@ReedmanAlison @Artemisfornow Please don't be so patronising.I am also a pensioner,not at all wealthy but my husband and I can manage quite well even though our combined pensions don't come anywhere near the average workers wage. We go on holiday buy want we want and don't begrudge other people's entitlements

What? … 625,618 households received more in benefits than the average UK worker's salary after tax and 16,000 received over £60,000 in welfare payments … DOUBLE the average annual take home pay for a worker in the UK after tax.

Pensioners have paid a mortgage for 35 years so yes,they own their houses. They have to live on their savings for the rest of their lives.
