@injusticeact @7NewsDC @maustermuhle Actually they cannot. DC law now requires owner receive eviction judgement. When US Marshalls come to remove|evict renter, renter must leave, locks are changed. Owner must put the items in storage and pay for first 30 days. Day 31 and thereafter is renter's responsibility.

My son got rear ended by a speeding car in DC at 2am. He gave chase, got the license, but could not catch the perp. Turns out it was a stolen car. Probably good he couldn’t catch them. But in this situation, even I would fight back. But I have brass knuckles with spring loaded blade—so there is that. Usually they have knives on the subway.
