@NeilFlochMD @YetAnotherBruce @ReiffRN So you get paid a salary. Then get extra for being on call I’m guessing for general surgery if you want. A bariatric surgeon FMV in Greenwich CT is $433,000
You made it look like you got $50 for working all night (or at least that’s what people thought)
English

I was just offered 50/hr. To work as trauma surgeon on call for 24 hours.

Kaiser LA wants to pay board-certified cardiologists $218.65/hr to work overnights and weekends. Don’t take this job. It’s hurts all of us.

@MaryBowdenMD @LilyFlowerRN444 OMG! They can’t stop, won’t stop! HOW is this happening in the great state of Texas??
Sorry that you just can’t get a break 😣
English

@MrsCMFrancis @FelicityM79 Maybe it’s an allergic reaction to the tallow?
English

@FelicityM79 I use tallow too, every night! Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to help with this
English

@noahkaufmanmd @Medical_Nemesis Crazy question. Will ambulances bring patients to you? Or are they contractually bound to only take patients to the area’s hospital associated EDs?
English

Since I am a very experienced, board certified ER doc, I can “handle” almost anything. We don’t have stat MRI nor CT nor troponin (yet) so those show you where we are limited initially. I’d say we can do 90% of what I do in the ER safely. But need to discuss risk with patients. For example, we can treat a kidney stone, and make sure urine not infected, and I can US to look at hydro, but can’t delineate stone size and potential need for Uro.
But can do far more than an avg urgent care up to that point.
We can do hospice care. Major injuries and dislocations of any joint. Pain control. Procedures. Etc
English

@MaryBowdenMD Interesting, they apparently don’t allow tagging on X. Cowards.
English

This is one of the intake questions posed by Houston Methodist when you register at their hospital.

English

@MaryBowdenMD Why are they receiving CMS money with this ridiculousness on their admission information?
Please tell me how care changes for a “genderqueer” or a “nonbinary” patient? HOW? HOW does sexual preference change medical care? Or for any on this list?
English

@DutchRojas Same staff, same patients, same providers, same everything except address. Ridiculous!!
English

@DutchRojas Medicare may pay about $110 on a $265 cardiac rehab charge when the program is located on campus. If that same cardiac rehab program moves more than 250 yards from the hospital and becomes classified as “off campus,” Medicare reimbursement may drop to about $35.
English

Your doctor didn’t sell his practice because he wanted to.
He sold it because the hospital next door was getting paid 5x more, by Medicare, for the same procedure.
Medicare calls it a site-of-service differential.
Economists call it a market distortion.
Patients call it a $400 copay for a blood draw.
English

@DutchRojas Existing off campus cardiac rehab departments that were grandfathered under prior rules may still receive the higher on campus payment rate, but they generally cannot relocate without losing that status; limits expansion considerations.
English

@paratroopbrady Because Timmy’s not running for Governor or POTUS. That’s why. Not against what’s happening in Cali, but it’s OBVIOUSLY very political.
English

@MyHandleNo @Sassafrass_84 Right, because that private suite is probably owned by corporate America somehow
English

@Sassafrass_84 She & Bernie never need to look very far to find the “Oligarchs”.
English

Well well well. Would you look at that?
AOC was spotted enjoying a Yankees game from a private suite while thousands of federal workers go unpaid. That’s especially ironic, considering she has criticized politicians for golfing during a shutdown and even going out to restaurants while regular people struggled.
PC: Terrance Williams.

English

@Sassafrass_84 Do you know how many times Trump golfs? Fuck off.
