@hifischizo Im so tired of the misinformation here🫩 Why don't you people educate yourself, instead of running with the things your grandma told you. It hurts the cat! Adult ones should never be lifted like this (exluding emergencies), it can couse nerve demage, and other things!

@hifischizo cats have flaps of skin that lets their mamas pick them up when young, they never lose these flaps of skin so they kinda just have handles you can grab if you are careful

@FizziStuff @hifischizo No, they are not reminded of their mothers, stop the personyfication! Its painfull and dangerous for cats to be lifted like this! It should be done only if you know what you are doing, and in a situation that needs it (rescue or others). Adult cats are not kittens!

@hifischizo cats have flaps of skin that when pinched don't hurt them at all, most commonly at the neck. they usually stop moving because they think its their mama carrying them somewhere. basically a holdover from when they were kittens

@hifischizo @Fivey_wivey You should do it while supporting the body with another hand. Mine likes being softly grabbed by the scruff while i have her over my shoulder, its comforting for her. At the very end its just holding them right and knowing your cat and their boundaries:-)

@Unixsystem13 @TheSaucePirate @hifischizo @Fivey_wivey That's the point they're making. More likely doesn't mean guaranteed to hurt. If you do pullups wrong or if something else pulls your arms up it's likely to hurt you, but you can do it right so it doesn't cause harm.

Dla mnie to jest absurdalne, że kiedyś na wsiach panowało przekonanie, iż „łatwiej” pozbyć się kociąt, topiąc je w rzece, zamiast po prostu wykastrować kotkę i zapobiec problemowi
