To add to this, I went into my lovely local library today to renew a wonderful book I have no time to read, and there was tea & coffee & biscuits, and some people in their later years sitting together, one had a guitar and the others were singing. A beautiful community moment ❤️

Libraries matter. Not just because they offer the wisdom & beauty of books but because they offer community. They are vital & necessary, reminding us about the best we can be or become. They fuel the imagination & open our eyes & hearts to the world.

It's coming up on 6 years since my debut novel The Glass Door was released! I can't quite believe how the time has flown by, as quickly as Rosie's raven... (You'll have to read the book to find out what I mean by that 😉) And you can do so here 👇 amazon.co.uk/Glass-Door-R-M…

Agreed. We need more artists represented in these conversations. Without the artist's creations as the foundations of these systems, they would not even have a business to discuss.

I would have liked to see @kortizart or @Kelly_McKernan as a guest on this, as voices of artists fighting the mass exploitation of creators’ work by AI companies. This will be many people’s first time engaging with the topic of AI. The blurb makes it sound like a marketing opportunity for AI companies. People deserve to hear about the exploitation at the core of much gen AI, so they can make informed decisions about what to support. variety.com/2024/tv/news/o…

This might be my last writing, or it might not; either way, I’m not too concerned. Maybe you should read what I’m writing this time, or maybe not. The machinery is getting closer, I hear its noise, and I hear the sound of gunfire. I see the shadows of death approaching, like a white breeze taking me far away to a peaceful place. I’ve never felt this before; perhaps it’s just an illusion, but I feel a prick in my heart. Maybe that’s the true meaning of fear. The war intensifies as if it’s just beginning, and it’s much worse. It’s a mistake to call this extermination of a poor people a war. How many lives must be taken for this genocide to end? How many children must have their bodies charred and torn apart for this crime to cease? How much sorrow is needed to end all of this? All I want for anyone who reads my words is to think carefully: if you were in my place, would you refuse death? Don’t tell me while you’re sitting on your couch, "Stay safe, fight for your life, take care of yourself," and then turn the page and watch a nice movie. We are not content; we are souls, souls that are taken every day. I deeply apologize for all of this, you filthy world.

@edibow @ring Any other arrangement reads as exploitative and unfair to me, as there is such a clear disparity between offering exposure to the NKOTB and everyone else involved. It also sets a poor precedent for other companies to do the same and undercut those making a living as performers.

@edibow @ring I'm definitely seeing it differently. I'm assuming that if everyone else involved is being paid for the campaign including you, and the end product creates profits for the company, then the talent - whether new or professional - should be paid fairly too 🤷‍♀️

Wow @ring this is truly shocking & by such a successful company, too. Not even full travel costs and NO payment for your chosen VO, but dressing it up like a prize someone should be happy to win 😆 Would your head of marketing be happy to work for free? en-uk.ring.com/blogs/alwaysho…
