The allegations against Cesar Chavez are horrific. Abuse of any kind, especially against children, is indefensible and a betrayal of the values that Latino leaders have championed for generations. There is no excuse. The fight for civil rights, fair wages, and dignity has always been carried forward by millions of Latino workers, organizers, and families. Those are the values that we must uphold and fight for every single day. His name should be removed from landmarks, institutions, and honors. We cannot celebrate someone who carried out such disturbing harm. My prayers are with the victims who have gone unheard for far too long. They deserve justice, accountability, and to finally be heard.

1) Huerta is a terrible person who says babies don't have souls, other insane drivel. 2) If true that Chavez was a sex predator, he was a disgusting person. 3) Why would Dolores attend the funeral, mourn her alleged rapist, gush about him ad nauseam for decades after alleged incidents, then not talk about it for 60 years (or 33 years since his death)? She said this at the time (1993): “He was a great leader, but more than that, he was a great human being… a man of deep spirituality and humility.” 1993: “César gave his last full measure of devotion to the farm workers, to the poor, and to the oppressed everywhere. His life was a testament to the power of nonviolence and the struggle for justice.” 2013: “César was the most selfless person I have ever known.” 1990s: “César was a very gentle person… very humble, very kind.” “He was a man of integrity. Everything he did came from a place of justice and compassion.” 2010s: “He was a good man… a very good man.” “He lived the values he talked about—nonviolence, respect, dignity.” 2020s: “He had a warmth about him… people felt it when they were around him.” Something doesn't add up here, sorry.
