Our Fort Carson community is mourning the loss of Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, who gave his life in service to our nation. I am praying for Mr. Pennington’s family, his fellow soldiers, and all those who served alongside him. Colorado will never forget his sacrifice.

250 years ago, a group of colonies won not just independence but forged a new nation grounded in universal truths. Today, we celebrate the enduring spirit of 1776 and the many gifts it gave us. Happy Birthday America—thank you for being a beacon of hope, prosperity, and freedom.

I had the opportunity to hear from the people of El Paso County (HD-16, 20, 21, and 22) about the first part of the 2025 legislative session. We reflected on the good, bad, and ugly bills from this year. Thanks to those who attended the town hall—I look forward to the work ahead.

Deeply saddened by the tragic shooting, yesterday, in Colorado Springs. My heart is with the victims, their families, and our first responders.

Yesterday was a Democrat, today could be a Republican. Silencing the voice of the people is NEVER acceptable.

In a few years, CO went from 6 specialized infusion pharmacies to a mere 1. The impact for those relying on these services has been staggering. SB-84 takes a critical step in changing that, and I am proud to have played a role.

Today, Colorado stands alongside 19 other states committed to creating the best possible learning environment—not just for students, but for teachers too. I'm proud to have sponsored HB 25-1135 and excited about the positive impact it will bring.

As a state, we must show military personnel and their families that we value their service and sacrifices. HB-1083 is a simple, cost-effective solution to the real challenges military families face. I’m proud to sponsor this bill and pleased to see its passage on Second Readings.

HB-1321 lacks transparency and fails to serve Coloradans. It gives $4 million in taxpayer funds to @GovofCO to “defend” CO from vague federal actions. This isn’t a responsible use of public money. We deserve clear explanations—not ambiguous intentions—when funds are allocated.

When it comes to heavy and complex issues transparency should be our guiding value not deceit. An averted birth, masqueraded as a responsible fiscal decision, is merely a euphemism used to diminish the true gravity of the situation—it is, in essence, an abortion. @COHouseGOP

As someone who spent years in the classroom it pains me to see our system so overwhelmed. We should be ensuring our schools are equipped to provide students with a high quality, thoughtful education. I wholeheartedly oppose this bill and know we can do better. @COHouseGOP

When it comes to mental health, CO ranks 46th. SB-042 presents an opportunity to fix that by advancing and enhancing CO's crisis response system. I am proud to sponsor this legislation and thrilled to see its passage in the House Health & Human Services Committee. @COHouseGOP
