President Carter will forever be remembered as a man who aimed to create a more peaceful world and protect our environment for future generations. Our thoughts are with his loved ones and the many others mourning him around the world.

President Carter redefined American foreign policy. He brought Egypt and Israel together through the Camp David Accords of 1978, helped ratify the Panama Canal treaties, and negotiated the SALT II nuclear limitation treaty with the Soviet Union. His actions saved countless lives.

I mourn the loss of President Carter, a man who never gave up on his aspirations to make government more compassionate for all. President Carter's dedication to the American people was admirable and his drive to further human rights inspiring.

The last 24 hours have made clear that House Republicans aren't working for the American people. A government shutdown would prove disastrous for families just before the holidays. Republicans must stop playing politics and start governing. We'll be here when you're ready.

I was there the day the Key Bridge collapsed. I’ll never forget it. From that day on, #TeamMaryland has been fighting for full federal support to rebuild it. I’m proud that we were able to get the job done.

I started my business as employee #1. That experience has driven my fight to fund community projects that boost small businesses and our local economies. So I was proud to deliver $4 million to @Poolesville_MD to revitalize pedestrian-friendly infrastructure on our Main Streets.

I had the privilege of awarding the folks at the John R. Webb VFW with $1 million to construct a new VFW building, where the courage and sacrifice of our veterans will continue to be honored. Thank you all for your service to our country.

Frederick County’s @VFWPost3285 was named after John R. Webb, a county resident and private who died in action during World War I. As the son of a World War II combat veteran, I know the importance of supporting the more than 16,000 veterans living in Frederick County.

As an @AppropsDems, I'm working to include the White House’s request for critical disaster funding in the CR – for Baltimore and the many communities that have suffered from devastating hurricanes and flooding this year. In these final weeks, I know Americans are counting on us.

Nationwide, there's a shortage of affordable housing for low-income families. Here in @FredCoGovMD, we're tackling it head-on with a project to develop affordable housing at the Prospect Center. I requested $3 million to ensure everyone in the county has a place to call home.

Today, we honor the ultimate sacrifice of the servicemembers who were killed on that infamous day. We must always remember the fearless and courageous Americans who answered the call to serve.

I'm thrilled to see @PIA_School break ground on a new 10,000-square-foot facility to provide additional workshop space and accommodate its growing Aviation Maintenance Technician program. I was proud to deliver $750K in Community Project Funding to get the job done, together.

I requested $2 million in #CommunityProjectFunding for @FredCityGovt to build safe and walkable sidewalk infrastructure to benefit residents and businesses alike. It was great to speak with small business owners in Frederick about how this project will boost our economy!
