States will be forced to kick thousands of Americans off SNAP because Republicans refuse to undo their $187 billion cut to the program. Republicans are literally signing off on children, seniors and veterans going hungry.

I’m disappointed that @usedgov ignored calls to keep nursing, OT, PT, and other critical fields classified as professional degrees. This decision slashes federal loan support for post-bacc students and will worsen workforce shortages. I’ll keep pushing with my colleagues in Congress to restore this status and ensure students can afford to enter these professions. nurse.org/news/doed-rise…

The President is right. Other countries lack checks and balances, including for the power to declare war. Not America. The Constitution and the War Powers Act are not suggestions. They are the law. Both Republicans and Democrats agree that a ceasefire doesn’t “restart” the 60-day clock. I will continue supporting War Powers Resolutions to stand up for Congress’s authority.

The Trump Administration just rolled out an Expanded Global Gag Rule that conditions lifesaving aid on adoption of extreme far-right, anti-abortion, anti-equality policies. This dangerous agenda doubles down on USAID cuts, puts millions at risk, and threatens our national security. I’m leading legislation to reverse these policies—we won’t stop fighting attacks on women and girls, marginalized communities, and LGBTQ+ people.

Great news! my provision to hold the Trump Administration accountable for banning harmful food dyes just passed the House Appropriations Committee. Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 1, etc.—these don’t belong in our kids’ food. As a mom, I’m fighting to make sure everything on grocery shelves is safe, healthy, and free of harmful additives.

The Supreme Court's ruling is a devastating setback for fair and equal representation in America, especially for Black and minority voters. Americans marched, bled, and fought to secure the Voting Rights Act. Each time it is eroded, Americans lose faith in the power of their vote. When voting rights are under attack, so is the foundation of our nation. Democrats will use every tool available to defend the fundamental right to vote.

Why stop at rotisserie chicken? Everyone should be able to buy a hot meal, with or without a Costco membership (or even liking chicken). That’s why my Hot Foods Act lets SNAP cover ALL hot, prepared foods!

Sudan is the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. Over 400,000 people killed, 15 million displaced, and sexual violence used as a weapon of war against women and girls. This month marks 3 years since the conflict resumed. This Administration can and must do more to end it by committing to a serious peace process and surging humanitarian aid, including through partners on the ground.

Relieved that everyone at tonight’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner is safe. I’m grateful to the law enforcement officers who acted swiftly to stop the shooter and protect every elected official, journalist, staff member, and guest. We cannot normalize what happened tonight. This political violence and hatred must end.
