Great meeting with RuralSTAMINA to discuss the Iowa State University-led RuralSTAMINA project.
We discussed the Biomanufacturing Engine award for Iowa, which will provide $15 million over the first two years to launch the Engine, with the potential for up to $160 million in federal investment over 10 years. This is a tremendous opportunity to accelerate Iowa’s bioeconomy, expand biomanufacturing capacity, strengthen the workforce, and create new economic opportunities across the state.
I was proud to write a letter in support of RuralSTAMINA’s application for this grant, which will foster partnerships among Iowa’s universities, strengthen our rural workforce, and help the United States maintain its global leadership in bioscience research and innovation.
