Seems like we found another can of worms. ATF purchased ad tech software that tracks your cell phone’s geolocation data. No policies in place yet on how it will be used, but they have it. That’s a conversation we’re not done with

🚨 WATER UPDATE 🚨 Congressman Cloud announced today that we are one step closer to desalination for Corpus Christi. Following President Trump’s visit to the Coastal Bend in February, his Administration announced today expanded water infrastructure opportunities that open the door for significant federal funding for desalination in the region. Until today’s announcement, preexisting caps on desalination funding made substantial federal funding opportunities for desalination projects virtually impossible. Today, the Trump Administration announced the removal of the $30 million cap that previously served as a prohibitive hurdle to large-scale funding of projects, such as proposed desalination in Corpus Christi. “It is no secret that the Coastal Bend is in need of long-term water solutions, and this is the first step into making things like desalination a reality for the region,” said Rep. Cloud. “It was my privilege to work alongside President Trump and the Bureau of Reclamation in making this a reality through countless conversations, legislative requests, and President Trump’s recent visit to Corpus Christi.” This cap removal comes alongside the Bureau of Reclamation’s announcement of a new funding opportunity through the WaterSMART program. The WaterSMART program is designed to leverage federal and non-federal funds to work with states and localities in implementing projects to increase water supply and resilience. The news comes after Rep. Cloud questioned Assistant Secretary for Water and Science in the U.S. Department of Interior, Andrea Travnicek, on the ongoing water crisis in an April budget hearing. Rep. Cloud asked for an update on Corpus Christi’s application for federal funding under this program, and Assistant Secretary Travnicek confirmed that they had been tracking this application very closely and have had multiple conversations to make sure all the necessary pieces had been submitted in preparation for this funding opportunity. The funding announcement references its advancement of Trump Administration priorities, including unleashing American Energy Dominance, in its project description.

Under Biden, ATF agents were showing up at gun owners’ doors listing what firearms they allegedly had inside. If OBRIS is only searchable by serial number, then how did that happen?

Is the Second Amendment an inalienable God-given right? We discussed that in the Appropriations Committee. How is it that “No weapon formed against you shall prosper?”

Imagine Big Brother tracking every single purchase you make. -The gun store you visit -The church or political cause you donate to -The medication you need -The list goes on This isn’t freedom—it’s total surveillance. Are we really going to accept a CBDC? @RepMichaelCloud

Every day, the men and women of law enforcement put on the badge, answer the call, and stand between our communities and harm. That courage and sacrifice will never go unnoticed or be taken for granted. To those who made the ultimate sacrifice — your bravery lives on in every officer who carries the badge in your honor. You are not forgotten. We are proud to recognize and stand with the dedicated law enforcement officers around the nation and those serving the 27th District of Texas.

What an incredible few days touring Texas ports with Chairman of the @HouseAppropsGOP Energy & Water Subcommittee, @RepChuck. The ports of Corpus Christi, Calhoun, Houston and Galveston play a vital part in America leading the way in energy production. We had the opportunity to meet with port directors, board members, and industry leaders from companies along those ports to gain insight and feedback on how we can continue to support forward movement in these key areas. Thank you to Congressman @TXRandy14 for the hospitality as we toured the Port of Galveston in his district. It's clear Texas ports are economic engines for Texas and the nation. Boat rides touring the ports and in-depth presentations around infrastructure investment, channel safety improvements, and future growth reinforced why federal support for our ports matters. Proud to advocate for the resources these critical hubs need to thrive.

The data empire has gone unchecked for too long. The You Own the Data Act (YODA) ensures personal data belongs to the individual, not Big Tech.

“It was much more than just a rogue agent. It was much more than just a field office or a prosecutor. It was actually a systematic culture issue at the Department of Justice to target Christians.” — @DAGToddBlanche Those days are over.

No agency in DC will ever willingly give up power — and too many in Congress buy into the fear-mongering. This is why it can be hard to make changes to FISA…

The sleepy Senate had hoped to send us a FISA extension with no changes that would be passed by UC to an empty House chamber. Today, we forced a vote on the Senate’s “clean” FISA extension that ignored our House bill that included a ban on a CBDC — I voted No. And so, even in our “loss,” the battle is not over, and we are forcing the fight in the right direction. We now have 45 days to continue to work for 1) a permanent ban on a Central Bank Digital Currency, 2) FISA warrant protections, and 3) the 4th Amendment not-for-sale protections (to stop the mass-purchasing of your data by intel agencies). And with the extra time, we should open up the FISA discussion beyond 702 to include reforms to Title 1 (where much of the previous bad actions have occurred).

Let's be clear: @HouseGOP has been doing its job. We've passed the SAVE America Act multiple times, yet where is the Senate? It's time for @SenateGOP to quit punting and do their job. The American people are waiting.

A Central Bank Digital Currency would be the ultimate surveillance tool. Last night's vote on FISA presented the best opportunity to force the Senate to address CBDC. As one of the primary members pushing for the inclusion of a ban on CBDC, I supported the passage of FISA with the ban on a CBDC out of the House. Here's more on why....
