5 years ago, Jonathan Brostoff used his platform as a member of the Speaker's Task Force on Suicide Prevention to make an impassioned plea for gun reform, including waiting periods for gun purchases, a red flag law, and universal background checks. To honor his legacy, I will do all I can to make these reforms a reality in Wisconsin. We can't afford to keep losing loved ones to gun violence.

I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania.  I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.

The bipartisan bill I signed yesterday will give states the flexibility they need to use grant funding to help prevent stillbirth. Stillbirth happens to more than 21,000 families every year – impacting Black and Native American women about two times more than white women. Vice President Harris and I are committed to solving the maternal health crisis in our country and preventing these tragedies.
