It's fascinating to see what social media reveals about a person before they become the Pope. Before he became Pope Leo XIV, Cardinal Robert Prevost was on Twitter trashing Trump, criticizing Vance, calling for open borders, promoting COVID vaccines, endorsing stricter gun control, and tweeting after George Floyd: "We need to hear more from leaders in the Church, to reject racism and seek justice." The account was deleted the day he was elected.

Mike Trout is now one home run shy of matching Mark Teixeira for 57th all-time, which if you'll remember, Angels not re-signing Teixeira led to them receiving the 25th pick in the 2009 MLB Draft which in turn was a young man named Michael Nelson Trout

@rebelliousdogra I suspect this isn’t over because DJT won’t handle this criticism from her well at all. Maybe it’s over and he’s let it slide, but then there’s that pesky ego of his…

@jeffd_5150 @JonathanTurley Look dude, if you’re not convinced there’s a good chance our president did terrible things with Epstein, that’s fine and proves the point I was making. I believe there is a good chance Swalwell did terrible things and therefore he should not be in office.

@ReplyGuy81 @JonathanTurley Well your intuition is so off the mark and misguided that you fell for the fake narratives while the majority of voters elected him. If you had no opinion of Swalwell before now that's either a lie or you aren't really informed enough to be discussing it.

In one week, Eric Swalwell was forced to drop out of the California race, put under criminal investigation in New York, and is the subject of a bipartisan expulsion effort. He was even kicked out of the home of a billionaire who was letting him crash. However, that is not all...

@LadyGriz @JonathanTurley OK so maybe some folks have long known about Swalwell’s slimebag actions and still supported him. I just found out, and I immediately decided he needs to go. Do I know for a fact the allegations are meritorious? No. But there’s enough for me to make a decision. Same with DJT.

@BufordTJustice1 @JonathanTurley There’s plenty of evidence. Like the thousands of times he appears in the Epstein files. The Carroll civil case. His wife’s recent attempt to distance. The victims. The NDAs. And so on. Not a smoking gun…yet. There was lack of evidence to convict OJ. But did he do it?

@jeffd_5150 @JonathanTurley I had no opinion on Swalwell before the sexual abuse allegations. Now my opinion is that he is unfit to represent his constituents and should resign or be removed. If one’s intuition suggests Swalwell is extra sleazy, then the same intuition should suggest DJT is XXXXXXX sleazy

@avidseries More than 80%. I consider myself to be conservative (meaning I support conservative policies) but pre-Trump conservative. I have never been MAGA. Voted for Trump twice but was done with him after 2020, kept voting for Republicans in Congress but honestly not sure why anymore.

I have a mix of conservative, liberal and centrist followers. It's not possible for me to tweet without making a decent percentage of my followers angry. But I'm wondering if you are in that very small percentage of my followers who find yourself agreeing with my tweets at least 80% of the time. If you are, please reply in the affirmative, and provide a brief description of your political orientation, if you don't mind.

@AstorAaron @ProfessorPape I’m just not buying that Iran is weaker now than it was in February. They have gained much and lost little.

The US demanded Iran surrender all its enriched uranium, same demand as before the war. Why would a stronger Iran accept this now? Powerful evidence that the US is caught in the Escalation Trap wsj.com/livecoverage/i…

@AstorAaron @ProfessorPape They can be more aggressive now because they are stronger. Every single U.S. blunder—of which there have been many—makes them stronger. No NATO support because U.S. blunders = stronger Iran. That’s one example.

@AstorAaron @ProfessorPape Hard disagree. Iran is much stronger now than before the war in many aspects. They are already in a much better position strategically and diplomatically because they control Hormuz now. Also the Lego movies.

@ProfessorPape Iran is not "stronger." It may have raised the cost of traveling the last mile in this war - and that's a significant problem - but that's not bc Iran is stronger. More like Iran is playing its last real card.

Did we learn nothing from Trump’s threat of using our military to commit war crimes? Members of Congress need to step up to the plate and honor their constitutional duty and take some responsibility for this war. If they haven’t noticed, it’s not going so great.
Congressman Chris Deluzio@RepDeluzio

Yesterday, House Republicans killed another attempt by Democrats to assert the Constitution’s war powers. The American people don’t want this war—but Republican politicians are refusing to listen. It’s weak and pathetic. Let’s stand up for the Constitution and the American people, and bring our troops home

@timburchett Hey, Tim. Turns out Ukraine appears to be on our side even after Trump’s Iran debacle. And they are fighting against occupation by our enemy, Russia. So yeah, I’m OK giving support to Ukraine. Trump is absolutely a military moron who also committed or threatened war crimes.

@Villgecrazylady Here’s the correct version: “If Israel wants to let this negotiation fall apart over Lebanon… That’s ultimately their choice. We think that would be dumb, but it’s their choice.” Israel is sabotaging peace deals for the one billionth time, and our leaders blame Iran instead.

“If Iran wants to let this negotiation fall apart over Lebanon… that's ultimately their choice. We think that would be dumb, but it's their choice.” The Trump admin would rather let Iran close the Strait of Hormuz again than simply tell Israel to stop bombing civilians.

@Villgecrazylady Remember that it is highly likely that the U.S. is unable to say no to Israel because they have the pedophile dirt on Trump. How crazy is that?
