Why is it so hard for people to comprehend what ICE and CBP are doing? Why DHS, FBI, etc are there to support them? I truly do not grasp what the fight against them really is. ICE: Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They deal with Immigration issues of ANY kind, and they also enforce Customs issues. If someone who is an immigrant does something unlawful according to the laws of this nation, it is their job to investigate the issue and handle it as needed. This also applies to any Customs law violations, most especially when carried out by the immigrant community, though not SOLELY when immigrants are involved. The inhabitants of the United States of America also import things (and people), requiring Customs clearance and compliance. Failure or refusal is not optional. CBP: Customs and Border Patrol. Again, Customs. Not optional. They work hand in hand with ICE as they normally would. The reason they are so far from the Border part of their jobs is because the Immigration and Customs issues are so egregious that ICE doesn't have enough people to handle all the investigations and re-aquisitions of the people involved. Since we have the military handling so much of the border crisis at the moment FORCING the immigrants into the proper ports of entry, we don't need so many Border Patrol agents, so many of them have been granted temporary positions to work hand in hand with ICE to clean up the Immigration and Customs issues inside the country, dismantle the organized crime, drug/human/sex trafficking rings, etc, since many of them are headed or handled by immigrants, illegally present or not. As for DHS, FBI, and others being involved, look at the complications of handling multi-state or multi-national crime rings, unlawful judicial interference in the handling of criminal cases, or the level of corruption that has been exposed so far. And this is only the tip of the iceberg. There is implication of everyone from local coroners all the way to international seats of power involved in this. What makes them involved? Anyone who could reasonably have known or derived that something was wrong and refused to take action, regardless of why, is guilty. Most especially when they were brought irrefutable evidence and they STILL wouldn't address it. They are now as complicit as if they had committed the crime themselves. That's what's going on AND why. No one is going to stop the efforts going on to clean up this country. No honorable, red-blooded American would even try.

@MeKelleyKelley @Govindtwtt But that's determination to work, not piss around and party. The left wants it all handed to them because their parents and society made damn sure they never had to earn and work for what needed. Not wanted...needed. Wants come later...if ever.

@Govindtwtt At 21 I bought a $900 rough mobile home. Larend to renovate. Flipped for $7000, bought a nicer one, flipped for a better one. Lived in them while I renovated. Bought a doublewide w/land, flipped it and bought my first house at 28. Flipped that. Sweat equity. Still doable.

Stop telling everyone to "just live somewhere cheaper." How? Live in your car? Illegal in many cities. Live in an RV? Often illegal. Pitch a tent? Criminalized. We made housing unaffordable. Then made survival illegal. And call that order.

@Govindtwtt Lower the prices. Increasing wages increases prices, so lowering should have the same effect. When you buy a place to rent it out, rent cheaper, not higher. Apartment complexes, etc can do the same thing. I didn't say they would - I said they could.

@Trumpisap3d0 @RepublicReviver @MatrixMysteries "Billionaires" Pfft all 900 of them? Billionaires can defer taxes on rising stock value, but they still pay taxes through stock sales, property, businesses, payrolls, investments, and sometimes estate taxes. Plus most create jobs and wealth for others.

This is modern America. Brand-new suburban homes. Four bedrooms. Fresh construction. “Section 8 approved.” Taxpayers working 40 hours a week to afford apartments — while government-subsidized tenants move into new houses. Work harder. Pay more. Own less.

Hence why I do it. It's not someone else's job to pay my bills. It's mine. Period. I can't afford to tear up my car, party every night, gorge on junk food, eat out every night, spend hundreds or thousands on online gaming, do drugs, bounce in and out of jail, etc. So I don't. I go to work and I go home, splurging only on rare occasions for specific things. And I make pretty good money, but I'm also the only income in a two-person household with medications, medical appointments, etc. Responsibility sucks.

@MatrixMysteries Everyday, I think about quitting my job and giving birth to as many kids as possible. I'll have the biggest house on the block and plenty of food for little to no out-of-pocket costs. The feeling of being a burden is what I can not shake, so I get up everyday and go to work.

It's not a problem of people getting affordable housing. It's the fact they refuse to work for what they have or take any care of it whatsoever. And all on the government dime...oh wait! That's MY dime that's paying the bills and fixing shit they won't. But we're not supposed to think about that, right?

They wouldn't take care of it. Look at how they live and you'll see it every single time. Their refusal to take care of themselves and their belongings is why they're in the shape they're in to start with. Giving them everything off the backs of others is going to do nothing to fix what landed them where they are: they themselves did that. You can't fix that. They have to.

@RealJoeDee1 @MatrixMysteries Honor prevents such a move or even such reasoning. You get where you want to be in life by earning your way. No one said it's easy, but you're only owed what you're willing to work for.

@MatrixMysteries Nothing stopping you from becoming a Section 8 recipient. Go on, get yourself fired, grab a job you're overqualified and underpaid for, then apply. If it's THAT good, then you shouldn't have a problem doing it, right?

Police need to be limited to the extent that, in order to even pull someone over, they have to have proof you actually committed a crime. Not that you broke a rule, code, statute, or ordinance, but that you committed a real crime with a living victim that can show physical harm in the moment, borne truth to by two or more physical witnesses present when and where the crime was committed. Think of how our jail population would shrink and how many less fines we would be paying.

There's nothing stand against here other than childhood stupidity. He knew it was wrong and did it anyway. Doing a thing, regardless of what it is, is automatic and unconditional acceptance of the results. He and his family learned that the hard way. Hopefully those around will see this tragedy and learn from it. Restricting the rights of others because of one refusing to control himself is a terrible idea.
