@pinkmilkshorty Nobody's complaining that you can't slide with the Evanuris in VG so if that's what you're arguing against you're arguing against shadows. People are complaining that the ability to play a character with even the smallest amount of edge has been completely removed

@pinkmilkshorty What? Mo said we can't be evil in the earlier games "period" and the overall complaint about not being able to be evil in VG is not solely focused on the ending. What are you even talking about?

@reddrakonmo @pinkmilkshorty Sure, you're not given the option to side with the big bad, but earlier games give you the option to play a character who is unmistakably evil in a "ends justify the means" kind of way that VG simply doesn't.

@culture_coffin you have a limited amount of time on earth and if you devote a certain number of your nights to watching movies then yeah you might be better off skipping the blockbuster du jour and watching a better movie. or making a nice dinner for yourself. idk man i think it depends.

you must resist the urge to see the new trendy horror movie that everyone is telling you you "have to" see. simply wait one (1) calendar year and see if anyone recalls it at all fondly (they won't) and watch it then (you don't have to).

@TheKevinFiles @arakkosuperstar It's a fine thing to have if you're already invested in middle earth as a setting and want to learn more for its own sake, but i think most people who have read it will agree when i say it's not a page-turner.

@TheKevinFiles @arakkosuperstar Thing is, most of Tolkien's "worldbuilding" wasn't in lotr, it was in the silmarillion, a book released after his death when his son compiled together a bunch of disparate notes and journals, most of which Tolkien didn't see as worth including in any of his published books.

i’ve read books that clearly has a lot of worldbuilding done but with no actual means of channeling it. the main plot would be compelling but the surrounding world kept invading. things happened just to build out the world but had no actual narrative purpose and felt hollow

conflating worldbuilding with actually writing a story or with a story being good is the most common cause for why so much fantasy writing is mediocre
