Long Covid sucks. I wish more people would take this seriously. And when you name problems... you make solutions more actionable. When you hide behind bullshit, nothing ever gets done.

Yet again, this is happening in a FEDERAL program (Medicare) — overseen by Trump and Oz — not the Governor. The state has no role in paying out Medicare claims. Appears MAGA continues to misunderstand how these programs work, yet blame the Governor. A severe case of Newsom Derangement Syndrome. We’re glad the federal government is cleaning up their own issues — and we’d welcome a cooperative federal partner because fraud is bad. It’s why the state has been fighting it for years: StopFraud.CA.Gov

🚨 GAVIN NEWSOM JUST GOT CAUGHT ALLOWING EVEN MORE FRAUD This "hospice" provider PANICKED when the reporter came up and exposed: "[They] filed more than 3,000 claims for 900 patients, billing Medicare for $16 MILLION DOLLARS." 🤯 "Anything over 100 patients at a given time that you have responsibility for as a hospice physician should start to raise red flags." "17 different hospices using your NPI number last year to file 3,000 claims on behalf of 900 patients!" GAVIN MUST RESIGN

We are being tested like never before. We face an assault on our democratic values unlike anything we have seen in our lifetimes, and it's our job to safeguard those values during these unprecedented times. To our clerks and election officials, California is grateful for your service.

"Cells destined to become the ectoderm - the layer that eventually forms the skin and nervous system - were by far the most vulnerable [against SARS-CoV-2 infection].. ectoderm cells show elevated activity of TMPRSS2, a protein that helps the [SARS-CoV-2] virus enter cells. In addition, these cells have a thinner glycocalyx, a protective sugar coating, making it easier for the virus to bind to the ACE2 receptor - a membrane-bound protein that acts as the primary entry point for the SARS-CoV-2 virus - on the cell surface.. Because the ectoderm gives rise to the brain and nervous system, its high susceptibility raises important questions about potential developmental risks. If infection were to occur during this stage, it could contribute to neurodevelopmental delays or structural abnormalities." The main target of SARS-CoV-2 is the next generation. I’m Nikopol, a city in Ukraine where the Russians are intensifying their attacks on civilians. The situation is getting worse every day. While the Kremlin tries to sanitise its image this week at Venice Biennale, It’s vital people see the war crimes they are committing

ICE arrested a 5th grader and 2nd grader at the school bus stop in San Antonio as their classmates watched in horror. Their stepmother was detained with them. The community at Alamo Heights Independent School District elementary is speaking out—no child should be locked away at the Dilley trailer prison. I am in touch with their father, Victor Labrador, and I plan on visiting with the family during my inspection of Dilley tomorrow. The family were asylum seekers and had valid work permits—what is happening to them is shameful.

I took this photo 12 years ago, May 4, 2014. This was the very city center of Bakhmut. I lived just around the corner. The war was just getting started with the Russian capture of cities across Donetsk oblast and about to explode after the airport battle later that month. But before it did, Bakhmut (then still called by its Soviet name of Artemivsk) was a quiet, peaceful town. When people hear its name spoken today it evokes destruction and the bloodiest battle of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Let this photo be a reminder that before Vladimir Putin launched the biggest war in Europe since 1945, that this city was home to around 90,000 who did not want it and were even Russian speakers. Nothing seen in this photo is still standing today because of the Kremlin’s invasion. The city is a hellscape.

@OJoelsen It used to be that the USA sent doctors, nurses, medical and heavy equipment worldwide during emergencies & catastrophic events. The aid offered and given seemed genuine with few if any strings attached. Today, USA aid appears tethered to greed and land grabs.

Earlier this year, the United States announced plans to send a hospital ship to Greenland. The idea was originally put forward by Jørgen Boassen, and shortly afterward there was discussion of sending the USNS Mercy toward the Arctic. At the same time, the president’s special envoy to Greenland, Jeff Landry, told KNR that he would pursue—“aggressively”—efforts to deliver healthcare to remote areas in Greenland. Now, KNR reports that the United States also explored the possibility of sending another vessel to Nuuk with capacity for 300 people. Chartered vessel On February 26, a “contract opportunity” was posted on the government website SAM.gov. Military Sealift Command Norfolk, which provides maritime transport for the Department of Defense, sought a private passenger vessel as part of what it described as a “market survey.” In addition to accommodating at least 300 passengers, the ship would sail to Nuuk, where the United States intended to charter the vessel for 30 days. The vessel also needed to support helicopter operations. Multiple responses KNR contacted Military Sealift Command Norfolk for comment. The command confirmed that the “market survey” was conducted at the request of the U.S. Department of Defense in connection with efforts to provide medical support to Greenland. In a written response to KNR, they stated: “It was unclear whether the vessel was intended to house medical personnel working onshore or to function as a floating hospital, as the requirement document received by Military Sealift Command lacked clarity. The key requirement was that the vessel be able to accommodate and feed at least 300 people.” In the same response, Military Sealift Command added that several replies were received, but no further action was taken because “the requirement was withdrawn.” —KNR

Just wanted to share something that was close to my late Mum's heart. Her garden. I've been left with the task of trying to keep it nice since she died but I'm not in her league when it comes to this. As well as the house to deal with, this is keeping me busy. Here's part of it:
