@AAWatcher @Rost1kG Yeah that's what most people don't understand. Even if you perfectly got the autoEQ to match the unsmoothed KB5000 DFHRTF with preference filters, HpTF variation across different heads in-situ is still going to be a problem.
English

@Rost1kG @ResolveReviews You really don't. Not only are you looking too close into minute frequency oddities, it doesn't account for the fact that a headphone measured on a measurement rig and one measured on your head are going to behave differently.
English

You shouldn't have confidence in AutoEQ or EQs to match targets in general. We tested headphone behavior in-situ after EQing to a target and found it to have meaningful problems for the individual actually wearing the headphone: youtu.be/JVW53wmo-04?si…

@MarekDaifi @Pirat_Nation @GoldenSoundHiFi @dms3tv Are we really worried about audiophiles not reproducing?
(that's a joke)
In serio, this is interesting, especially when you consider how it impacts the market - stores already pulling certain popular models. Maybe future marketing involves a "not harmful materials" badge.

A recent EU-funded study tested 81 headphone models from various brands, including Bose, Sennheiser, Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, and others.
Every single one contained hazardous chemicals linked to hormone disruption, reproductive issues, and other health risks.
Although levels were mostly trace and not an immediate danger, prolonged skin contact may allow migration into the body.
