@HelenHet20 Looking forward to listening to this. I love Coppola & Heart of Darkness (the doc), but it showed how despotic the auteur can be when detached, physically & geographically, from their studio. A passionate artistic vision quickly becomes a callous dictatorship.

The 70s really were an absolutely incredible period creatively. Such a high point. We took it all for granted at the time, thought it would go on forever.

Rewatched the two Godfathers recently. Been a long while. Blimey, knocks you for six all over again. Not sure what happened to Pacino after the 70s. His voice changed, and he became very hammy. His performance in Godfathers I and II is a masterpiece all by itself. Beyond words
