Marwān, it stands over the Blessed Rock, from which it is said the Prophet ﷺ ascended to the heavens on the Night Journey. Al-Muṣallā al-Qiblī The structure with the silver-grey dome at the front of al-Masjid al-Aqṣā is known as al-Muṣallā al-Qiblī, as it stands nearest to the qiblah. Al-Muṣallā al-Marwānī Located beneath the south-eastern side of the sacred compound of al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, al-Muṣallā al-Marwānī is one of its largest prayer spaces, capable of accommodating thousands of worshippers within the blessed grounds of al-Masjid al-Aqṣā. Qubbat al-Silsilah (The Dome of the Chain) Directly east of the Dome of the Rock is the Dome of the Chain, built during the reign of the Caliph ʿAbd al-Malik b. Marwān. It marks the exact centre of the al-Masjid al-Aqṣā sanctuary. Al-Burāq Wall The western wall of al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, known as the al-Burāq Wall, is where the Prophet ﷺ tied al-Burāq on the Night Journey, and where the Prophets before him would tie their mounts. Musallā al-Burāq A prayer area located next to the al-Burāq Wall within the al-Masjid al-Aqṣā compound. It is said to mark the place where the Prophet ﷺ prayed after tying al-Burāq during the Night Journey. #HandsOffAlAqsa

His name is Abdul Wahid Shaikh. He was a schoolteacher in Mumbai. On July 11 2006 seven bombs exploded on Mumbai’s suburban trains during evening rush hour. 189 people died. Police arrested 13 men including Wahid. He had nothing to do with it. He spent 9 years in jail waiting for trial. In 2015 a court acquitted him. Zero evidence. He walked out. But 12 other men from the same case were still inside. For the next 10 years Wahid did not rest. He fought for those 12 men from outside the prison. On July 21 2025 the Bombay High Court acquitted all 12. The court said the prosecution utterly failed to prove the case. Confessions were extracted through torture. Witnesses were unreliable. 19 years. For nothing. No compensation was paid to any of them. No police officer was held accountable. No apology was issued by the state. Wahid distributed sweets outside the courtroom that day. That is the kind of man wrongful imprisonment could not break.
